I posted my resolution test on the other thread but I didn't find anything new there. But I would like to add a comparison between teh GM 24 and FE 28 I did so people have an idea of how much better the GM is.

Looks great Guy. Thanks for posting!
From what I've seen on your tests and my initial crops, resolution and contrast is a big strength and that's wide open and across the frame. I'm very impressed.
If that's not good enough, I believe that rendering is what makes this lens special and unique. I did some stress tests with lots of high contrast foliage in the background and rendering remained smooth at close and mid-distances.
Here is a sample at 1.3m showing a scene very few lenses would do well.

Yes Fred I am really liking the rendering here on this lens. I think you still get nice pop or look even at F4. Maybe better said good separation from the background.

Thanks for the tests, Guy. I knew it wasn't looking good for the Batis, though I'm surprised that it's not looking so good for the Loxia either... I thought it might have a microcontrast advantage, but that doesn't seem to be the case, from your pics.
If you have a chance, it would be interesting to see some bokeh comparisons between the GM at f/2.4 and the Loxia.

My Batis 25 goes no where! At least for now
I am also super happy with 24mm on the GM 24-70. But I will definetly try the GM 24 1.4 in the not too distant future and am very curious to see some side-by-sides incase someone gets there before I do.
Sony GM 24/1.4 + FE 35/1.4 + FE 50/1.4 + GM 85/1.4 is certainly a compelling kit. Personally, I find the FE 50 F1.4 excellent @ 1.4. Guy tells me the GM 24 1.4 is even better than the FE 50 @ 1.4 .

The Loxia does distort more. Not sure you caught that and they look pretty darn equal. I tried to sell my Loxia 25 than backed out but I may sell it. Reason is I have my MF kit as CV 15,21,35 classic, Cv 50 1.2. So I really don’t need the Loxia and in a pinch if I need a 24 I can throw the Sony in as a travel lens. Like to have the cash for a ZM 85 and another strobe
On the AF side I got this Sony 24, Tammy 28-75, Batis 85 and 135 . So I’m kind of all set . I may sell the Tammy for the Batis 40 but no hurry to do that. If I do at all. So I’m a little in the air on the Loxia I love it but I hate the ergos on Loxia glass . That aperture ring drives me nuts. I did a about face and went all CV. My problem with the MF kit it’s more Guys kit than works kit so I need to enjoy it or I’ll leave it behind. I’m weird that way

I like the MF on the 24 GM a lot better than the MF with the Batis 25. Works quite well in a MF kit!

Thanks to Guy for the reference test of this GM. I just can't understand how so-called "professional" reviewers can produce such crap. The 24 GM has spectacular color correction and that includes insignificant defocus fringing. The bokeh ball test is a thing of beauty.

You can do it - Go to the custom operation page (camera tab 2, page 8/9), custom key, then page 3, select focus hold button, and set it to aps-c s35/FF select on page 1/23
That sounds really complicated but it is easily done

I also need to figure out how to make the focus hold button to Crop mode. I could not find that in the field
