What are people using as a lens profile in Adobe Camera Raw for this lens? I've tried one or two likely candidates, but none of them seem appropriate.
I've not really tried anything yet in this regard...... I don't have CC either so no up to date options.
I find the CV40/1.4 Classic profile reasonably close though for the 40/1.2

Is it fair to say that this would be a good option for someone who a) doesn’t mind manual and b) is more of a hobbyist, and can’t really justify the cost of the 24 GM? Seems like it...

For me it was not justifying the cost of a Loxia and liking the small form factor - I wasn't concerned about MF at 21mm - we'll see how I get on with the 40...

Thanks for the excellent test, does anybody know if either of these have focus shift?

Yeah, I'm totally hooked. The 40/1.2 was my first - got it shortly after release. Then the M Ultron 28/2, M Skopar 25/4, E 21/3.5 and just last week picked up an M42 Ultron 40/2 SL to use mostly on my Pentax MX as an ultra-compact 35mm setup.
Fanboy for life now.

Oh, wow. Pentax MX! Forgot about that one until I Googled it! Cool camera, I used to shoot an MV, which I actually liked, even though it was inexpensive & Av only.

It's been awesome - totally love it. Bought it for a steal about 3 years ago from Robert (the guy who founded fujix-forum) and everything has always worked beautifully. Even if the battery dies, it still works, thanks to being all-mechanical except for the light meter.
I've contemplated selling it - it's a more "rare" black one - and going medium format, but realistically I know it's about perfect for me. About as small as a Leica, big and bright viewfinder, runs like clockwork. I know I'd *baby* anything more expensive, and wouldn't always want to lug around a MF rig, so it's staying.
I've been searching for a pancake lens to use on it for a while. The Pentax 40/2.8 has very mixed reviews. The K mount Ultron 40/2 SL was short-lived and currently runs around $600+, while the M42 has been almost nonexistent until one magically showed up on KEH last week (for $350!!!) so I jumped on it. Almost finished testing it on my a7S, but I think we're good to go. Renders a LOT like the 40/1.2, and as usual for CV it's frigging BUTTER to operate, so I'm plenty stoked.
