I initially thought it was a frog too, but as I reviewed images on the iMac, I could clearly see small toes & claws. I think it was probably a baby squirrel.

Amazing how Nikon got the lens so very small and light with the quality it offers. Having the 500PF strongly feeds a single desire: for a Nikon 600mm f5.6PF. If they make that very lens, then what use do other lenses have?
