A Texas Horned Lizard with the D500 and the 500pf at close to minimum focus distance. Last pic I used a larger aperture to try and show how well these little guys can camouflage themselves.
Follow-up on the loon family that lives close to my home. This was taken about 24 hours after birth. Violent fight between the chicks during what I believe was their first time out of the nest together.
Is the 500pf finally becoming more widely available? The reason I ask is that I've been looking for one (two actually, one for a friend who is leaving on safari in about 6 weeks and one for me), and I am in touch with four sellers of the lens all in mint or new condition. All have come on the market in the past week. Is nikon finally building inventory or are there just a few people looking to make some $$ selling the lens higher than their purchase price (which is ok by me)?
I'm pulling the trigger on one of these for my friend today, will keep looking for me at a lower price point...I'm a bottom feeder!
When we stay in the city there is a pond 1/2 block from the house.
Nothing there really but ducks, and I dont' know one duck from another.
But it's a good place to walk out the door and practice BIF
I came across a feeding session at a Scissortail Flycatcher nest yesterday. It was a challenge to get a good line of sight, w/o encroaching too much & scaring them, but the 500PF was my ace-in-the-hole.
