When people get tats, esp that big, it's usually pretty important to them, so I would have positioned her the same way you did.
In this picture, I don't like that she's looking down. I can't really see her.

When I am shooting these destination weddings, I have so little time with them that I don't always get to pose them or orient them with total free will. She was standing there waiting for the groom to get mic'd up and loved the composition.
Had I moved more to the right, I would not have had both sides of the bay (where the trees are on each side), so that may not have been an option. I took another with her looking at the camera, but preferred this one a bit more.
