Guy I've been in dialogue with Ming at Laowa concerning a Laowa 25mm macro that just shipped my way; in those e-mails I asked about release/details of the 10-18. Ming mentioned nearer the end of this year and no more details than we already know.

If you used the Astronomik clip-on filter coupled with the Laowa 15, field curvature became very pronounced. Which aperture did you use for your Milky way imagery?

Fred I shot at F2 and F2.8.
Agreed curvature notable.
Also, would it not also affect coma?
With the clip in filter coma seemed more pronounced even stopping to F2.8.
That said, using a custom White Balance the filter is amazing for the light pollution here in the east. In my case it's a matter of picking my poison.

With my Loxia 21 and CV15, I use a 58mm light pollution filter. It works great without inducing FC.
I really want to test the new 10-18mm against my CV 12, 15 and Loxia 21
I am not expecting it to do better, but If it performs similarly, it will be a great zoom lens.

Which filter do you use Fred? Do you lose much light with it? Tons of light pollution here on the east coast.

These special filters like light pollution, extreme nd´s, infrared may be a problem to find in 37mm diameter. I hope Laowa will offer us at least a set of nd´s for video. ND 0,9; 1,2; 1,8 are on my wishlist and for stills the big stopper nd 3,0. If I want more I can do that with the smooth reflection app.
ND´s for video are indispensable because this will be the perfect lens for gimbal work in apsc/ s 35 format.

The Sony 12-24G is $1600.
If this 10-18 from Lawoa is more than $1000 it will be a surprise, for me at least.
It might be 2mm wider, but it's also 6mm shorter on the long end, it's slower, no electronic contacts and no AF.

It's much bigger especially when adapting filters to it. That's the main attractive for the Laowa. Sunstar, distortion and flare resistance may be better but currently unknown.
