p.31 #6 · Pre-order: Voigtlander 110/2.5 Macro APO for $1,099
My package came earlier and I have the CV 110/2.5 APO in hands!! I did a quick centering test and compared it to the Batis 135 at infinity.
I will post samples soon. (Perhaps in a new thread)
It's more compact than I expected being only slightly longer than the GM 24/1.4 and CV 65/2 APO. It comes with 2 front caps..one for the lens and one for the hood.
BTW: The hood is included and it's all metal weighing only 32g!

Why did they change the location of the aperture ring? I think its position on the cv65 is perfect and that new position seems one of the issues of loxia users

Mine is supposed to show up later this week I knew it was very small but kind of heavy but I doubt it feels as heavy being more compact like it is. I am just hoping the extra 20mm and slightly faster 2.5 make for some dreamy bokeh and that it is even sharper than my 90 macro and more suitable rendering when not shooting flowers and other close or tight shots like of cars and other things.
I love my 90 macro particularly the ease of swapping from AF to MF but not wild about its almost clinical look when used as a med telephoto and would like a touch more reach.
I think the CV 110 will really be a favorite of mine if it is as good as some of the other lenses they have released.

Well being a macro it could possibly be not as good at infinity because of the macro design. I’ve seen macros not so great at long distances in the past. Will have to see how these tests come up.

Hey Fred, throw us a bone
So far I tested it for centering and this review copy is perfectly centered.
I will advance this:
1) No onion ring bokeh (no aspherical element)
2) High resolution at close distance
I will start a new rolling review thread soon.

No onion rings makes sense. Although 8 of the 14 elements are APD (anomolous partial dispersion) there are no aspherical elements in this lens. I don't know if the page at Cosina has been published previously in this thread, but here it is so it is easy to find:
