I see one important reason why the new one could or should be heavier. The old 125/2.5 has some plastic parts inside, and could have had better mechanical quality. This translates into the new lens being a heavier lens, as I see it. The 65/2 weighs 635 grams and only goes to 1:2 magnification, compared to 1:1, i.e. life size, for the old 125/2.5.
Edit: The Zeiss Milvus 100/2 weighs 843 grams (ZE) and 803 grams (ZF.2) and only goes down to 1:2 magnification. I think that the Voigtländer 110/2.5 should weigh about as much.
