I want a 2.8 so I�m getting it. For event work stuff so it does not have to be the absolute best IQ wise but good at AF functions. Is there a release date that anyone seen. I�ll be selling my 24-105 after a gig on the 5th.

In Japan the release date is 24th of May.

Got a quick hands on at local shop here in Singapore. Autofocus seems pretty quick in afs in stills and afc in movie mode. Built quality n feel in hand is nice. Zoom ring almost same stiffness as 24-105 fe. Only issue here it costs almost 1070 usd.

I found some english versions of the mtf and the lens build

I hope they use the same MTF calculation as zeiss for the Batis.
