Hi all,
I had some time on hand since I was down with a cold and flu. I do know that life is going to get crazy soon. Thanks to all of you who have pointed out certain improvements. Please continue to provide pointers so that I can improve.
The most challenging part of photography in CR is the low and diffused light. I wanted to shoot with the lowest possible ISO, but have the highest possible shutter speed, especially for the tanagers, and other smaller lowland rain forest bird, but many shots had to be taken at high ISO, resulting in some noise as you will notice
Since 40 pictures in my last post appeared to a bit too much, I will post less than 40.

(you'll see what I mean)
Once again, the diversity and the variety in CR is amazing and I was sometimes struggling to keep up. Didn't know what to shoot. Most days started with a 4:30 - 5 AM wake up with 6 AM out the door schedule and we shot during many nights as well. I probably shot more in 10 days there than I do 4-6 months in the US. So once again thanks to Supreet for making this happen.

1- Agouti - we were very lucky to have seen this rare visitor, very shy creature

2-Mottled owl - shot at very high ISO. Still not mastered the art of night photography

3- Green Honey creeper

4- Coati I was not able to get to eye level to get this animal very few shots

5- Orange chinned parakeets - food shower

6- Chestnut mandible toucan

7- Black Vulture

8 - red eyed tree frog

9 - Red legged Honey Creeper - male. It has a small patch of bright feathers on the top o his head.

10- Male Curassow portrait

11-Golden hooded tanager

12- Eye Lash pit viper

13- 3 hummers

14 - Juvenile Yellow headed Caracara

15 - no post is complete without a keel billed toucan, is it :)

16- Chestnut colored wood pecker

17 - Great Kishkadee it has a small yellow patch on the top of its head

18 - Palm tanager

19- Black hawk - juvi could not separate the BG from the subject,sorry

20 - Camouflaged leaf praying mantis

22- Collared Aracari - checking me out.

23- two red legged honey creepers females If you stick out your tongue, I'll moon you

24- yellow legged honey creeper - male

Batch 4

25- Margay scaling down a wall very easily, these cats can rotate their paws allowing them to scale trees up and down

26 - Three long tongued bats

27- Two red legged honey creepers females

28- Curassow female

29- Baltimore Oriole - female non breeding color

30 - Motmot not an easy find the light was challenging

31- Talamanca posing in the morning light.

32- Clay colored thrush - the national bird of CR. cannot understand why they could not have picked a much more impressive bird. oh well

These are amazing...
You have some fantastic portraits with beautiful light and background. I love the addition of rain in some of these.
This set alone would be more than enough to make me happy if I were to have been as productive as you.

I suggest you start taking photos of 1040's to stay in practice.

The forest canopy is challenging enough but add in rain and the difficulty is of another order completely. Well done my friend.

This is another extra nice set KD. I'd be very happy with any of these - except 12, which has an odd look. I suspect from the use of flash. I wish I could help, but I've never shot in the dark ~ Ron

Nice variety of excellent images. I would like to see more margay shots. You seem to have done well dealing with the photographic challenges.

Love the bats! The agouti is also super cool. The lighting looks good despite the rainy conditions.
