Just returned from SA and had a really good time. You know you had a good time when leaving makes you a little sentimental. This is my second visit and also second year in a row for SA and hope there will be more in the future, but as you probably recognise as a wildlife photographer; the wishlist is so large that you also want to see other countries. Add to that that i also love urban street photography (especially night cityscapes) it is sometimes hard to make choices. Wish we had 730 days in a year, and 3 times the monthly income... Choices choices...
Anyway, here's some images for you to enjoy. Please do!

beautifully done, Marcus. Kalahari is on my bucket list.
Thanks, and congrats with the Featured thread of the week, i guess i was late to the party
I can recommend going the kalahari, but don't expect wildlife abundance... it is a matter of determination and luck.

Marcus, you crushed it!! Killer job dude, and you make me yearn to get back to Africa.
Super, super shots. Jeez, a brown hyena?! And that gemsbok, WOW!
Can't wait to show these to my wife.
Jeff
Thanks Jeff. The brown hyena was a treat for us. It was harassed by a pack of black-backed jackals and luckily walked all the way to our car. Can you imagine i took that shot at ISO 12800? I was hoping for some action so i dialled TV 1/1000 and did not pay attention to the ISO. When we got back i was like OOOHH NO! But with some careful noise reduction and PP i could still bring out some detail.

That's really impressive, Marcus! What platform do you shoot? 12800 is no joke and the image looks fantastic!
We had no luck with the brown hyena or black maned lions during our 2016 trip, but it was still really awesome.

Thanks Marc for the comment. BTW I have another batch Round 3.
The light it seems in Kalahari is to die for and you have captured it very well and the Brown hyena is the icing on the cake. Voted for this series, Marc. Your Flicker images are so good.
