The World of Wheels is also this weekend at the World Congress Center. Best day for photographing will be near opening time on Friday before the big crowds come in. I plan on going but I'm not sure what time they begin letting people in. I may be able to make the motorcycle show on Saturday also.
Mark - I already have reservations for FDR too. See you there sometime Friday evening 2/16.
i'm gonna try to be there around noon myself....from the looks of things, i may be the only nikon guy there.....please don't thrash me .....look forward to meet you!
I'm going to the World of Wheels Friday afternoon and try to get in early enough to beat some of the Friday night crowd. If I don't go to Hiawassee NWR Saturday I can be at the NATC at noon also. Still undecided on the NWR.
Not sure yet what time, but it is next Saturday (February 17). I think we are going to have a pretty good turnout. If it is cold, we'll spend most of the day in the butterfly house
The Motorcycle Show was pretty crowded and the lighting inside was pretty bad (photographically speaking), and I didnt' wanted to use the flash because of the reflections. Those are the 3 that I like the most from my results.
I had to use ISO 800, 1600. It seems to me that the digital noise with the 30D is worse than the 20D, is that possible?
Hi Lowbyte;
I shot only in RAW so, it seems to me that there is more noise when I check the raw files. As I understand the "picture styles" doesn't affect the raw files.

Grant- I walked thru World of Wheels on Thursday during setup, didn't see anything that knocked me off my feet. How was it on friday?
Gaby- the 30d added "Picture Styles". This effects the jpg- could the noise your seeing be from the "style" your camera is set to?
Love the 3rd shot
There were some pretty good cars at the show but my guess is that there will be a lot of money lost on this show. Attendance was unbelievably low during the time I was there from 7:00 until 10:30. Unless Saturday and Sunday are a big success I don't predict a return in 2008. I was involved with the World of Wheels in the mid 80's and at that time there was a huge attendance on the opening Friday evening. At the cost of space in the World Congress Center for a weekend this show has to have a very large attendance. I haven't heard how Saturday and Sunday attendance figures were yet.
Here's a couple of shots. Crowd was definitely no problem as I would guess barely more than 100 people there.
