I am guessing Sony has a deal with UPS and Fedex and that is why they are releasing the camera on Thursday forcing those of us with little patience to pay for overnight
Well..finger's crossed but I may have one shipping on the 30th after all. Cant wait to confirm this tomorrow!
Hope not, I am leaving the country on the morning of the 1st.

I ordered mine within the 1st 10 minutes of when preorders opened from B&H. About a week or two after I placed my order, I read somewhere that B&H was now selling the camera and including a 64g UHS II high speed SanDisk SD card with it. So I emailed B&H and they agreed to include the card with my order, as well.
Yesterday I received the card! Am I “grasping at straws” thinking that the appearance of the SD card indicates that the camera will be shipping to me soon? Did anyone else that ordered from B&H receive the SD card?

I'm getting the free card but my order online says the card is "in stock, order sent to warehouse."

I have been quiet about this, in case it was a one-off "favor" resulting from me sending several emails detailing how I am going to Costa Rica early on Dec 1st. I didn't want to get anyone in trouble.
My credit card was charged for the full amount on Sunday by Adorama. When I called customer support and mentioned that Amex does not like it when a dealer charges for a product that is not shipping, they told me that they had the camera and it would ship second day express "tomorrow" which was yesterday, Monday. Well, "tomorrow" came and went, so I called them today and they said it would definitely go out tonight (Tuesday). I upgraded to overnight shipping. I really want a day or so to get it customized and use it here in Florida.
It is now 10 PM in Florida and no emails or texts, yet, but at least my account now says "Picking".
Long story, short, I MAY have a new A7Riii before I leave for Costa Rica, Friday.
This has been a very frustrating experience where I have had to change shipping addresses three times because I was not sure when it would arrive and where I would be at that time. If for some reason it does not come by Thursday PM I will be canceling (one more for someone else) and will wait to order at a later date.
Since at least some of this is Sony telling their dealers that they cannot sell product that they actually have in stock, I have to blame them. They need to think about who their customer is. I understand, as a manufacturer, you have to protect your dealer base, but this is really crazy and obviously very frustrating for more than a few customers.
If Sony didn't get it to the dealers until the 30th or later, I would understand, but when they did get it to the dealers early and they actually had a chance to make their customers really happy by shipping early and didn't..... I don't know what to say...
Sorry, I shouldn't get so hung up on this. My original plan was to use my Olympus OMD EM1 MkII and Pro lenses in Costa Rica and I should have just stuck with it.

I’m not in favor of this release date stuff at all. It really serves no purpose I can think of. Sony distributes to all there dealers once it hits the USA import clearance. They all get them about the same time. I remember this when I was very close withLeica as soon as it clears customs they send to dealers second day air. My point here is if a dealer has it in stock than they should have every right to sell it. The dealers have bills to pay to they should not be held hostage by a fixed date. So if dealers are out there doing special favors for customers, I say we should give them even more business as they care about there customers than playing politics

They have to hold the camera back to build up its appetite for stars.
Just kidding. The reality is that there is a lot more to a product launch than the product. The call centers need to be trained to take calls before the product reaches the customer. All the ticketing tools and databases they use need to be updated. The repair centers need parts and tools (unlucky people will break the camera on day one). The pro support stuff needs to be in place. Etc, etc. Which is why there are hard launch dates.

Nothing from Amazon either. I still have arriving to me Nov. 30thon the tracking. I have overnight shipping
But even so my expected Raid Array that was supposed to be delivered today from Adorama finally got to Phoenix but not me. So we could have shipping issues too with all this Black Friday and Cyber Monday stuff. Let’s hope for a better day tomorrow.

Mine has been sitting at my local store since some time last week. The sales rep even sent me a photo Torture!!!
Perhaps Thursday Lightroom will come out with an A7riii update, then I won't feel so bad.
