It's a shame that Sony couldn't improve jello due to rolling shutter with the A7RIII. I shoot 50/50 stills/video. I also need a silent mode for indoors stills.

I knew this in advance from an early report, tested it in person and saw the same effects. I still think the a9 is the camera for me, but I will wait until next year to see how far used prices for one will drop.

Interestingly I have tried shooting with EFCS off and compared to a A7rII it is much quicker with no audible break between the shutter having to fire twice. It might slow down continuous shooting a bit but as a sound it is hardly disturbing as it used to be and is a lot snappier so those who worry about bokeh issues with EFCS might want to shoot with it off

Since it is reading/timing the flicker to correctly time mechanical shutter I'd assume it can at least increase shutter delay a bit when used and flicker is not detected.

I presumed that's was only to do with the electronic shutter not mechanical though the online manual isn't clear about this (As you can see from the next post I was wrong about this)

Sony needs to release the Nov. 30th date. It’s meaningless at this point. Send the pre-orders that are placed at store. Hold to the 30th a direct purchase
That makes it more meaningful to the dedicated Pre-order buyers and it will create more pre-orders.
I ordered at Amazon and have all money in place this morning. I already paid 500 in gift cards.

This totally sucks. I'm leaving for Antarctica on 12/1 and it would have been nice to have it for the trip.

My order is also at processing. I think it's a really good sign that BH will be able to fill most orders, especially if they already got their first large shipment
