No offense here, but I do like Steve Huff, I don’t use him as a sole review site, but I do like his enthusiasm and believe it to be genuine, maybe naively, but I definitely think he adds something, but as always, be an informed consumer.

We had a kitchen leak and right now I'm in the process of removing all the damage hardwood floor and cabinets...We spent the weekend at a hotel and I only took my 40/1.2...Here are some family snaps.

I completely agree about Huff.
I wasn't talking about what he SAID (other than a passing comment about him thinking the bokeh was better but I put no faith in that)
I was talking about the samples, which do show something odd going on. More likely to be some kind of mix up, user error or even doctoring (given the LoCA desaturation). But odd nonetheless, and not what we'd predict.

Yep. It was when I found out that he funds his lens and camera purchases at the cost of the vulnerable that I stopped visiting his site.
He doesn't need to fund those with ghostbusting. They pay more than for themselves. I am sure that he could buy a few Leicas from his blog's income every month.
As a lens reviewer I can tell you that enthusiastic reviews sell a lot more lenses than well balanced ones. So there is a perfectly rational motiv behind enthusiastic reviews. It is the affiliate commission of 2-3% on each lens sold. And some are better than others at withstanding that temptation.
I've only been here for a few weeks and genuinely appreciate the opinions and experience.
Fred, your images are priceless. Hope order is soon restored.
I'll be ordering the 40 FE tomorrow.
Can I help anyone with an Adorama affiliate %age?
Rob

Sorry to hear about leak, but damn! These are wonder pics! I've got to try this lens out.
Ok, finally jumped off the fence and ordered the native FE mount version. I wanted to order the M mount for the TAP and size, but my rational in the end was, 40mm on the M isn't great anyway, no framelines, cant even approximate the coding as there is no Leica 40mm, at the same time on the Sony it would not be working to its full potential either, so as I have the CV 35 1.7 and 50 1.5 for the M already, FE mount won my internal battle... well that and the 75 pages of forum thread reading I did yesterday!!!
Not to mention the trip to huffparanormal.com, err interesting. All in an average day of frequenting the FM forums
