Hey everyone, loving the images in this thread. Got this lens for the z mount a few weeks ago and I really love the rendering, sunstars, and subject isolation I can get with. Could easily become my favorite lens.
The only thing is that I’m so slow with manually focusing haha. It’s easy to shoot stationary landscapes, but I’m having a hard time getting quick candid shots of people, and forget it if they’re moving lol.
Guess I wanted to ask if anybody has experience with adapting the 40mm m mount with the techart autofocus adapter on Nikon Z. Does it suffer a lot from the thicker sensor stack?
I went from the E mount version to VM to use the Techart adapter. I don't really notice any image quality difference in daily use. The upgrade to AF is totally worth the slight difference in corner bokeh quality in some shots. It's only something you might notice occasionally. Stopped down, I can't see a difference at all.

Shoot Sony mainly. Getting an Zf. Is it wise to get this lens in E mount? This way I can shoot it on the Zf as well? Thanks.
I think that depends on a bunch of things. How often would you shoot it on Sony? If quite a bit, then that would argue for an adapted E mount version. Do you like the focus to turn the (Canon/Leica/Sony) way or do you like focus to turn the (Nikon/Pentax) way? Do you plan to use the lens for video and would potentially declick the aperture? (the Sony regular version of the lens has a declickable aperture, the Nikon version of the lens does not.) I have used several E-mount lenses on Nikon Z mount cameras with the ETZ21 adapter and I found they work well, but I prefer not having to use an adapter.
A little egg decorating yesterday (my kids with my mom). I had to pick up another copy of this lens. I have to say I like the SE version vs the previous which I had last time.
