So excited to have this lens again. Much easier focusing on the Riv than it was on the riii as well. This latest one is noticeably sharper at 1.2 than the last one I had.
I had my VC 40mm f1.2 mounted on my a9 today as I went about my regular business just to keep practicing on the manual focus if i saw any photographic opportunities. Here are three shot that show a little of the versatility of this lens.

Portrait of one of my students in Lab Class today. Took just one quick snap to try nearest eye focus.
Nice flower i saw so I wanted to try close focus shot.

The FE85 - I've had that since before the E mount Voigtlander's came along! Had the Batis before that for a while. And before that a Leitz Tele-Elmarit 90/2.8 thin!! Damn, I wish I didn't sell that now
As great as the little color-skopar is for city walks, it does fall short when the lights get turned on... good thing there is the big brother (or cousin?) to step in when needed, worthy of it`s name - the 40mm NOKTON...
The statue is of one of the more prominent Mayor's of Ljubljana from the begining of the 20th century - Ivan Hribar... he was also a minister(what you guys call state secretary😉 ) in pre WWII Yugoslavia... one of the main stories about him is about his death, he killed himself as Italians ocupied Ljubljana '41 and offered him to run the city for them, he chose to die by jumping in the Ljubljanica river (near the spot where the statue stands) with verses of Baptism on the Savica that speak of freedom (some sources state he shot himself first before he fell into the river), writen by Slovenias greatest poet France Preseren, whose statue is on the last picture of my previous post 😁
I can agree with Slovenia being a beautiful, friendly, safe and clean, but on the other hand I am not too fond of our socialist collective core, I am more of a Hayek, Friedman, Von Mises kinda guy... 😉
me and my friends usually joke about how our hardcore right wingers are still more socialist than your Bernie or AOC et co... 🤪
But thats politics and we are on photog forum, so let it be said, Slovenia has a lot to offer as far as photography goes, but usually people don't take their time to explore... it really is a shame... but hey, to each their own... 😊

Like you, we were lucky with the weather on our visit, and ate outside overlooking the river and the bridges.
Slovenia is such a beautiful, friendly clean place. You are blessed to be living and raising a family there.
