Nice read Phillip. I love using the 40mm for nature/landscape/woodland/forest/etc scenes. In fact, I use it for pretty much everything.....!! I've used 40mm since 2015 with the Classic 40/1.4MC so this f/1.2 in E mount was a no-brainer for me. Sometimes a fixed focal length is hard to work with for composition & I'd like a little zoom either way but the challenge of working hard for a shot is awesome Plus, I tend to shoot most of my woodland bigger than f/2.8 so the prime really works well for me.
Been violin "shopping" yesterday... Visited a master violin makers workshop... had to bring my CV with me... M tried about 10 violins, played them for 2hours straight... we narrowed it down to 2, and now her violin teacher will have a go at them and then we will decide which we buy... at the end I was tired, let alone the poor little M, she fall a sleep a minute after we got back home... :-)
