I purchased a used copy of this lens off of this forum and got a chance to try it out today. I haven't had a manual focus lens since my old Canon AE-1 and it's been a little bit of work trying to shake off the cobwebs, but aids like focus magnification and peaking have been very helpful.
I still need much more time with it but so far I'm enjoying this lens!
I'm rather late to the party but finally got a copy of the lens off the B&S here.
Initial photos taken at f/2.8 provide some "Wow!" moments, but also scratching my head on some mis-focusing and color balance. Definitely need a lot more testing and comparisons.
One positive thing I can say is that for f/2.8, the center is incredibly sharp!

Thanks Fred, and happy New Year to you and all the forum members!
Very nice shots, Douglas and Lee.
I agree with Douglas that the prices have come down to an affordable range for lightly used pieces.
I got out for a more extensive outing today and am blown away at the results of the lens. Seems like a great pairing with my other new favorite, the Loxia 25.
Here is an odd shot through glass that I just decided to grab on a local college campus. I call it The Philosophy Professor Mind.
