More 40. I didn't totally agree back when this lens came out, but I'm having trouble resiting the urge to sell my Loxia, get the 21/1.4 and wait for the 75/1.5 to come in E mount...

That's a great plan! Ideally I would like a 28/1.4 and 75/1.5 E-mount lenses to complement my 21/1.4 and 40/1.2.

That'd make a great 4 lens set! Close to the awesome Contax G gaping as well...

Loxia 25, CV 40, Loxia 85 wouldn't be bad, but I'm OCD and don't like mixing and matching.

If only 3 lenses, CV 21/1.4, 40/1.2 and 75/1.5 (when available in E-mount) would work well for me. Currently I'm using the 65/2 APO instead.

That’s what I’m thinking. TBH, 21 is wider than I usually care for, 24 would make me happy but since it’s good up close and has f/1.4 character I’m not picky. Maybe I need the 28/1.4 7A as well?

Amazon recently reminded me I bought the 65/2 late 2017, hard to believe its been out that long. Excellent tens but too large for me and too fiddly at infinity. Can’t failt anyone who it works for though.

Lurked on this thread for a while and was sucked down the whirlpool into purchase land like many before me.

I still can't believe how incredibly helpful and informative this community is, in terms of exposing me to technical discussions, equipment information, and just plain fantastic images by extremely talented photographers.

I'm extremely thankful.

Shot this weekend with a friend visiting in town and the joy of manually focusing, the balance on the camera, and the absolutely wonderful rendering have made me fall completely in love.

Sounds like you are getting off to a good start with the lens anyway

For owners or users of both, should I swap out my CV40 + cash for a used RX1RII?

Advantages to RX1RII: AF, 35mm (closer to 31), extra body, small body.

Advantages to CV: f1.2, fun MF, maybe preferred rendering (! Would've never thought I would say that over Zeiss)

Totally depends on what you want, doesn’t it? It seems as though you want to, so go for it. That said, I wouldn’t do that deal simply because my CV40/1.2 is my favorite lens. Good luck.

Can't find out what I've got until it's gone, right? I bought a ZM 35/1.4 thinking it could replace my CV 40, but it wasn't the case. Hopefully I can give the RX1RII a test run before an RX1RIII is announced!

I've gone back and forth about the decision to forgo the CV40 for a used RX1rII. Let us know your experience if you decide to pick up the RX1rII. I don't think I've ever seen a proper A/B rendering comparison between the two. A "bokanalysis" if you will
