Snippets of the waterfront at Orebic in Croatia. A mixture of 19th century sea captain's houses, drinking fountains, small boats and small pebble beaches lined with Holm Oaks.

Forgot to take the UV filter off for this shot, but, I kinda like the flare.
Which brings me to one of the cool things about this lens, the fact that the filter screws into the hood. I always have a filter on my glass just because I re-sell so often...So having the filter on the hood makes it super convenient to just unscrew the hood to shoot clean.
So...., I'm actually looking for something around 15mm-18mm and I really love these Voigtlander's. I LOVE shooting them, I love optics, the feel, the control, the build just the overall experience shooting feels more enjoyable. But I'm looking for a wider aperture than the 4.5 Helliar.
Any suggestions?

I have the 15/4.5 and it's great paired with my CV40. If you need wider aperture though, maybe either of their 21mm lenses might be sufficiently wide? The Laowa 15/2 might work, but it doesn't have electronic connections which is a bummer for me.

Perhaps I could do without the wide aperture on a 15mm, I won't be shooting astro.

There is the Sigma 14/1.8 but it's a truck. The Laowa 15/2 is a great alternative.
Personally, I love the CV 15/4.5 III for landscapes. It's sharp across the field from wide open and flare performance is the best I've seen in a 15mm. The only problem is copy variation.

One of the features I really like about the CV 40 and the new CV 21 f1.4 is I can use the CPL by just turning the hood, instead of having to remove the hood in order to rotate the CPL.

Sorry, actually only the CV 40 does that, for the CV 21 f1.4 I still need to remove the hood to turn the CPL, not that I use CPL much at 21mm.

Got another 40/1.2. Have to play with it more, but as fun to use as I remember. Still don't know about it replacing the Loxia 35.

Interesting. Could you clarify how that works? Why doesn't the hood twist off when you do that?
Thanks.

The hood screws on the filter, not the lens. when you turn the hood clockwise, the hood also turns the filter, it won't tighten it. If you turn the hood counter clockwise, eventually it will come off the filter.

I find this feature super convenient.

A less orthodox application of this lens, toying with stacking.
Despite compressing the image with JPEGMini, Flickr still messes it up.
