Here is my first photo with this lens of the 3rd production run. Strong sunlight, but overexposed to salvage the foreshadows. Probably more of an exercise in shadow recovery and pulling down the highlights, but the lens did well.
Just got my VM version in from Camera Quest last week. Broke her in with an impromptu engagement session and I can definitely see why everyone loves this lens. Here's a quick few shots with the M10.

For the folks that have the CV 40 1.2, have you noticed a faint clicking noise when turning the focus ring towards infinity? The focus ring movement is super smooth, so I don't think there's anything sticking. More that the click sounds like electrical contacts.
Everytime I think about selling out of Sony and concentrating on using just Fuji, I use the Vgt lens and realise I can't do it. The closest thing in Fuji land is the Mitakon 35/0.95. I bought it but returned it due to a mechanical fault. It was nice but it is not like the Vgt. I haven't added samples for quite a while but here's a couple more from the other night when I went out to compare my Fuji and Sony kits.
I got lucky found a mint condition FE version on local Craigslist. I bought the lens and went had dinner with friends in downtown Palo Alto. Really like the way this lens renders. It feels like when I adopted the Ultron 35/1.7.

I opted for the M over the E because of the cheaper price, smaller size, and ability to use it on non-Sony cameras and modded sensors. I love mine. I think you'll be ok

My M just came in. The VE is nice and compact, but the VM is another level. LOVE it on the camera. Looking forward to testing.
I'm a real novice at photography so I would value your thoughts.
Both of you are using the Lica M version of this particular lens. If I understand correctly, that means you need an adaptor which I believe is used in Nehemiah's photo of the lens attached to an A7III.
A post by Camera Quest shows the M and E version side by side.
My questions:
By adding the adaptor does it compensate for the size differences?
Does the M version produce better images than the E version?
Any additional differences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the question. The short answer is you’re better off getting the lens mount for the camera you’ll shoot on, so if you’re shooting Sony, get the FE mount version.
The M is a bit smaller, but the E is still a reasonable sized lens. The E actually has a few benefits over the M, shorter minimum focus, EXIF and optimized IQ for the Sony stack.
Why we adapt? I wonder that myself sometimes, but basically if you don’t already know why you want to adapt something, get one of the many, excellent native lenses.

My feelings as well and in all truth I did the adapter solution for awhile and just got real tired of it. I have a feeling others may feel the same way. Today as opposed to 3 years ago we have so many great native lens options compared to before as we where more forced into adapters

Great pictures in this thread, but man, I'd love for a tech question to not get buried. Please?
