Honestly, this lens continues to amaze me. Brilliant late afternoon sun over the Hudson River. My wife and I were absolutely blinded. I said, ok, this is an absolute torture test, and shot right into the glaring water. No polarizer, which obviously would have helped immensely, nor ND filter. Honestly, I could barely stand to look. I can't believe it didn't have massive flaring, green spots, etc., that I've come to anticipate using zooms.
Glad to see folks order from Rich at Photo Village. Great folks there. Please tell them I sent you. Maybe I can get advance copies if releases to test. I’m going to NY in two weeks maybe I’ll drop in. BTW it’s literally across the street from B&H.

Thank you very much! I ordered one. Now to cancel my order with B&H.
B&H gets there stock of Voigtlander from Photo Village when I bought mine it took 3 days for B&H to show stock. I’m not that patient to wait for anything I want.

i actually like that it gets squirrelly towards the corners at large aperture, but then I like the glow up close at wide aperture too. for my taste this is a great all-rounder – has character and unique abilities wide open but is very sharp and contrasty across the frame stopped down to f/2.8. bokeh could be a little better stopped down, but it's better than most lenses. like michael, i think i probably prefer the 50 lux asph, but i need to verify that.
Love these images. Was going to go for a native mount version eventually, but these look great and seem to add even more character to a very interesting lens.

I've been through a lot of the thread, did anyone ever find a PCX solution for the M mount version? 2500 or 5000mm? May be going back and forth between thin sensor and stock sensor, curious if there's a fix...

i've been meaning to try the 5m pcx on it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Okay folks, hell of a deal I just found. EBay has one of their coupons, and if you're interested in the M mount, looks like Camera Quest has 3 M mounts on eBay for 899. Coupon brings the price to $799! Derek, might need that 5000mm back if you aren't using it...
Don't want the M? Check out Camera Quest's site. They have a used E Mount at the moment for $959. Given that it's hard to find one period, someone should jump on it.
My apple tree is finally waking up. I was trying the CV40 against my Sony 85 and Batis 135. It took on the challenge well. I'm waiting on the arrival of my Marumi 58mm DHG Macro +3. I'm looking forward to a bit more close-up ability. This lens sure is a lot of fun to use.

Ah well... any chance you’ll ever un-glue it to see if it’s worth getting a 5000mm pcx for the M version On a stock sensor? I forget if you have a stock anymore...

To anyone who ordered from Photo Village - did they send you shipping confirmation/tracking info, or a back-ordered notice?
I ordered mine on the 2nd, all Ive received so far is a receipt. However, I go to my basement door today and theres 2 notices from UPS, one dated the 3rd, one today - that someone needs to be here for a package, all it says is its coming from NY, NY. I'm not expecting anything else from anybody - could they have overnighted it and not sent tracking or shipping info? Weird. I guess I'll find out Monday now!

Sent them an email this morning, no response. Thanks for your input.
That sucks. Would have been nice to get some sort of shipping notice. Photo Village site is a little weird. When you order the lens is said shipping $20.00. Didn't say what carrier or what method.
