p.54 #2 · Adapting Lenses to the Fuji GFX

Hi,
I too have a Novoflex adapter, but its for Canon FD to Sony (A7II).
It is really well made, solid and tight.

A while back there was a thread on DPR with photos showing the FD 50mm f1.4
on a GFX, heavy vignetting in extreme corners, maybe usable if you enjoy
shooting 5x4 or square. (I searched DPR and the thread is there but the
photos are not there anymore).

May I ask which FD lenses you'll be using on your GFX?
Please keep us posted.

Cheers!

Has anyone here adapted Projection lenses from Schneider? Is it worth it or just a fad?

Just got the Fringer adapter for my 50R. VERY impressed how the Sigma 105mm ART covers… looks like a more conventional standard lens (slightly blurry corners) at f/1.4, by about f/3.5 things are looking pretty great around the frame.

One more on R with 90mm TS-E Version 1. The process of using TS lenses is easier and I enjoy it far more than on A7 series.

Would you mind positing some sample shots. Thanks.

Just got my Tamron 35mm f1.8 DP Di VC USD lens. Someone mentioned that is better than f1.4 version on the GFX100s but I see vignetting in the full sensor mode. I am using with TechArt adapter. AF seems slow.

Man, Fuji should make more of the f1.7 lenses like their 80mm f1.7. I know 50mm f1.7 is coming sometime in 2023 and I am looking forward to it.

So, I think I've found a good substitute for the GF 100-200! I wanted something as small and light as possible that still covers the sensor perfectly, and got myself a Mamiya Sekor-C 150/3.5 for ~$100.
It's a lot more compact than the 210/4 and seems optically superior as well. And it runs in circles around the OM 135/3.5 that I've used before. Nice colors even if a bit muted, and I love the transition to background blur (no good examples though).

This was at f/8 but it's pretty sharp wide open too. Seems best at fairly close range, just like the 210 (and OM 135, for that matter). Farther away there's a bit of fringing and SA that goes away with stopping down.

Can you try a far away shot with that lens? I have bought used Canon 200mm f2.8 to try and see how it compares to my 100-200G.

Sure, maybe later today if it stops snowing. How far is "far away" in your case? My adapter is a tiny bit too long for critical infinity focus, but ~50 meters works, I think.

Just got my Canon 200mm f2.8 version I. Using my TechArt adapter I can't adjust the f-stop, so this is wide open at f2.8. Using manual focus which I am not that good at. I have new Fringer adapter coming today. Hopefully it is compatible. Those chicken stock cartons are not perfectly flat. Full sensor mode. Lens looks good to me.

The vignetting looks very light for wide open f/2.8 with the full GFX sensor.

Could be because of pretty short distance though... Indoors closeup tests can easily fool you when it comes to vignetting. Unless that's how you will use the lens of course.
