How do you like it on the GFX, it looks like there is a bit of vignette though the performance is still there.

I *really* like it. The lens is so small it turns the GFX into an "everyday" camera, lol.

There is significant vignetting (~2.5 stops) but it is fully correctable as the lens actually covers the entire sensor.

p.118 #2 · Adapting Lenses to the Fuji GFX

Before replying directly, I just purchased a GFX100SII and GF45-100 mm lens barely used...So I have NOT read all the posts here.

I am staying with my Canon DSLR's and adding the Fuji as my "go to body" ubtil I become familiar enough with how to use it.

I am probably going to buy an Fuji-Canon EF adapter-Fringer EF-Mount Lens to FUJIFILM GFX Camera Auto Adapter($500)
But I want all electronic functions, AF....., to work correctly /out me trying to spend countless hours seeing if it is me screwing up, the Canon lenses or the GFX100SII.

So I will suck it up for the money.

Anyone familiar with this adapter from actual personal experience?
Thanks!
Dan

PS to be frank..the vignetting is a minor issue with me.....definitely worth noting but there are some workarounds in editing..

I am thinking of getting a GFX 100S II body + EF adapter.

Would anyone have a compatibility list of EF lenses with details on how bad vignetting is?

Also how's the AF response time and focus accuracy?

I am thinking of adapting the

- EF 800mm f/5.6
- EF 600mm f/4.0
- EF 500mm f/4.0
- EF 400mm f/2.8
- EF 300mm f/2.8
- EF 200mm f/2.0

My GFS100SII will be shipped soon.
I too have an arsenal of Canon lenses and don't want to get rid of them or the dslr bodies..so...

Your input and others would be great!
Thanks!

I have the Fringer EF to G Adapter, used with 16-35 2.8iii and 70-300 L, works great, snappy AF and no problems thus far.

Congrats Dan on your GFX 100S II purchase. I know you've been yearning for that high mega-pixel cam that Canon never produced. This choice gives you more future options.

Yeah, it’s a bit much, I feel it’s still better than my Heliar and than the Sonnar ZM. In 65:24 mode, it’s almost decent to my taste.
I’d like to find a FF M-mount lens that allows some ok performances for some crop format modes on a focal length between 35-60mm equivalent. It might come to a very short list where I might only find the Thypoch Eureka to offer that.

Holly cow, Dan. I never thought of you as a long ones guy. 200-800mm is some serious long glass.

If that is in my Profile..the 70-200mm some how got compressed...
500mm is my biggest....was out yesterday at Arlington for some members and my 70-200mmf2.8 "killed me!" Man that is heavy!! I had hand tremors all day long!!

My Fuji 100sII and lens are on their way Michael!
This composition is FANTASTIC! The blacks and whites are crisp and sharp! The boat/men are almost 3D!
Now might I ask what adapter you used?
Super composition Michael!

Dan,
thank you, I use the Fringer Pro EF to GFX adapter. Works great with the EF lenses I use, AF is spot on and
you can change aperture same as on native GF glass.

Fringer Canon EF-Mount Lens to FUJIFILM GFX Camera Auto Adapter... is what I am going to order! Expensive but takes all the questions out of making a terrible image! I will be a true novice with the Fuji on its way.

Thanks!
