I was trying to get some video and audio of the rustling leaves, but that wasn't happening as people kept getting in and out of the car and asking, what am I shooting.... haha... oh well, there's always tomorrow.

I'm surprised you came out alive and unscathed from this vicious feline

Very cute and relaxed cat - and they are in a good way the perfect photo model, don really seem to care what one is doing with the camera as long as we don’t get too close !

I'm still hesitating to keep my great-but-sometimes-not wide-enough 35/1.4G or to buy (once again) a great-but sometimes-too-wide 24/1.4G. Maybe this 28/1.4E is the perfect compromise...

ps: I'm also using the 58/1.4G and the 105/1.4E

I don’t usually cross-post, but I noticed some folks were thinking about this lens and I figured I could save someone money (and sell my lens).

I have a like new 28mm f/1.4 E on the B&S forum right now if you are interested. It is an amazing lens, I just decided to go with a z7 and the native 35mm. The 28mm is a better lens, I am just trying to reduce weight and avoid using adaptors.

Thank you for the link as I am sure someone will be interested! Personally I have now stepped off the merry go round of smaller/lighter FF gear as I my interest revolves around f/1.4 lenses that truly gel as I migrated to smaller systems in 2010 to the Leica M9 after the 5D II and ZE lenses. There is always a compromise with fast lenses. My reason for getting a MILC will be mainly for video work and I suspect it will the Z6 for now. I have in the past rationalized to smaller/lighter setups and then end up after 6 months being disappointed. The grass is always greener except where you stand

I've never been bothered much by large equipment having come from the Canon 1D series for many years. In fact, I'm probably one of the few that wish the mirrorless cameras were bigger. If the Leica SL were more reasonably priced, I would have one although those native lenses would test even my size limitations (not to mention my wallet limitations). No... the mirrorless draw for me is simply lens lust and using whatever I want with one camera. Having recently switched from Sony to Nikon, I'm enhancing that passion with great F-mount lenses... (with AF to boot) and that's all just a long way to say I'm the happy new owner of Jerry's 28e. This thread put me over the top!

My wallet hates you guys! (I like you though). I signed out a loaner 28e from Nikon for a week and ordered one after three days. I’ve been building my personal lens wish list collection for a couple years and this one rounds it out. 20g, 28e, 50A, 105e and 70-200e. Merry Christmas to all!

There's a gap at 58mm in that list... just sayin'

That is the great thing about being a photographer these days. So many choices in equipment to suite your need. I used to have a ton of fast primes and a pro level DSLR and would break my back getting my camera out and "up the hill" to the point I just stopped bringing it places. I am hoping lighter gear will make me more enthusiastic about photography again. There are always trade-offs, but for me it is a hobby and if it is not fun it isn't happening.

Of course I still have a 600mm f/4G - so...I still have something heavy to carry when I feel the urge.

. I’ve used and like the 58g. I would consider it an addition and not a replacement on this list. Maybe someday.....

Looking through some photos from my July trip to Oaxaca, and like these images better with a fair amount of crop. Definite advantage to shooting these on the D850

Remember, if asked why you need something the answer is always, "to take pictures of the kids!". That's unassailable. Saying you have GAS because it's winter is not a good answer.

super stoked to shoot with it.
