Did some coma tests tonight and the summary is that apart from the extreme corners, the GM does an OK job at 16mm and a decent one at 20mm. Not quite as good as the Loxia 21 or Samyang 14. Some light cloud cover came across as I was doing the Loxia images and blocked out the stars before I could get the Samyang out.

Yup 100% crops from an a7R2. And when I say 'corner' I'm not kidding -- the top right pixel of each of those embedded corner crops is the top right pixel of the frame

Just got the 16-35GM mounted on the A7RII... Wow, only issue for the moment. A rattling lens hood Anybody else with the same problem. It's kind of annoying.

Looking forward to see more of what this lens can do. Particularly interested to see how it compares to the F4 version for those that might be in a position to compare the two.

Mine has a little play when the hood is on. Nothing I would worry about and only noticed it now after reading your message and checked.

Yes the lens hood doesn't click into place in the positive way that it does on the 24-70GM. It does when reversed though. Personally I don't use it anyway as I see it having little effect on such a wide angle zoom

Thanks, so it's normal... Hope it will be silent during Video, it's kind of loose. :-)

Well mine doesn't rattle or anything it just doesn't 'lock' in to place like on the 24-70. As I said I personally see little point in using it is so shallow and probably only effective to some degree at 16mm though it could add some form of protection against the front of the lens getting damaged if you knock into something.

OK, got feedback from other users and there it's also more loose than on the 24-70GM or 85GM. I will just ignore and shoot.

I have to say though that it does seem strange that it doesn't really lock into place properly compared to on the other GM's and wonder if this is actually an manufacturing fault. I think I might try to contact Sony (pretty pointless probably) and see what they say as it doesn't seem right to me.
