Taken a last week during my trip to Mammoth Lakes. Mono Lake was extremely windy that day...
The solution was capturing long exposures with the help of the Sony SR app.
Technical info:
Taken with a A7RII + Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8 at f/8.
64 average images at 0.5s shutter speed for the background (Equiv. 30 sec.) and 4 images at 1/3s for the foreground. (2-image focused stacked using Zerene in post)
The great thing about the in-camera SR app is that I ended up with only 2 RAW files, one for the background and one for the foreground.
The exif info below shots 1/3s but that was for the for foreground rocks only.
wow, to get those kind of clouds over the tufa...that is stunning. Lucky you to be able to shoot from that spot and not have 20 people in front of you! Great image, got my vote.

I'm pretty sold on Nikon gear, but if you keep posting images like that with that smoothing app, I may have to sell it all and go Sony. Amazing image.
I was a die hard Canon shooter...and have not regretted going to the Sony for everything but sports...
