Because otherwise it wouldn't be as competitive price wise. But if the 50S and 100 didn't have it, no one would miss it.
Maybe. My thinking is that If I can spend $6500 on a camera and $2000+ on one lens, then that $500 or so for having that tilt adapter would not have any affect on me.
Now using both for a while, I can definitely say that the eye piece on GFX50s is better. EVF on GFX100s even though the same as before is more clear, maybe it is a different part inside, I don't know. Results wise, if one doesn't need faster AF, GFX50s is quite good.

The tilt EVF of the 50S is the reason why I am sticking with the 50S.
In combination with the outstanding GF lenses the 50 MP 50S is an
excellent complement to my 50 MP Sony A1.

It’s great to have both camera systems.
Cheers, K-H.
I totally agree with Bobby and K-H regarding the tilt EVF. I love it. I also decided to keep my 50s primarily due to this feature. To me it is as significant an evolution in camera design as the tilting LCD. And yes, if it didn't exist no one would miss it, but that logic can also be applied to the LCD. Imagine the uproar if camera manufacturers took that feature away. I'm sure the cost of producing the tilt EVF is considerably higher than the cost associated with the tilting LCD, so I understand why Fuji, in an effort to bring down the costs, would eliminate it. That said, I really can't imagine not having it, now that I have. So unless Fuji adds this back to the lineup, I will be happy with the 50s for quite a while.
