It's an incredible combo to say the least!
Totally.
I've seen quite a few of the 50R + GF50 combos for sale on eBay. I have to wonder if people don't update their firmware. My 50R came with 1.0, and the GF 50 couldn't hit focus worth a darn on it. I updated the 50R to 2.0 firmware, and it’s nailing focus every time now.
My wife Sharon and I went out for Happy Hour last night. Of course we had to wear masks. The first picture shows my mask at the beginning of the night. After drinking wine all evening, the second photo shows my poor mask at evening's end! GFX 50R 32-64mm lens at 64mm f8.

No more happy hrs for us. To me not worth it. We went to the beach this Monday afternoon hoping it would be not much crowds. Kids have been staying at home for last 5 months and wanted to go to the beach. Wrong. It was jam packed so we had to drive back home.
Nothing else to shoot yesterday afternoon so took a shot of my snack. Cojita cheese was finished by the time I took the shot. 20200731_Food_0008 by Vishi A, on Flickr

From yesterday. 120mm f4 macro. I need something longer. How is 100-200mm?...r
The 100-200 would let you leave your 120 at home, and it takes the 1.4x.
GF 250 is brighter @f/4, much higher IQ, gives you 50mm more reach, and can be extended to 350mm f/5.6– if you don't mind the weight in your bag and the sticker-shock price. It's worth waiting for it to go on sale so you can use the savings for the 1.4x.

Thanks. So 1/2 the weight of my original 300mm f2.8 IS. Maybe cheaper/lighter to get something for my A7rIV but man I still like the Fuji more. The AF on my 300mm f2.8 IS doesn't work with TechArt otherwise I would have been happy with it as an almost 200mm f2 lens. I should try it first as a MF lens.
I keep my 250 in my bag with the 1.4x installed... Because of that, I see the 100-200 and the 250+1.4x as two different lenses with different purposes mostly. I've never even tried the 1.4x on the 100-200...
I'd say they both get used, but the 100-200 gets more use for landscape shooting.
