Totally wrong example to claim “copy cat culture”, don’t you think? AFAIK, Techart (Chinese) are the first one to come up with this original concept.
If you want cheap copy cats, you need to look at the US companies!
Perhaps, in a few years, Novoflex will come up with one for a few thousand Euros.

I would strongly advise you to hold off from getting a Nikon Z camera, unless there are other compelling reasons (apart from autofocusing M lenses) that would justify the purchase of another camera system. Chinese Copy Cat Culture will almost certainly ensure that an E-mount version of this M->Z adapter will be released before too long.
I just received the Techart Pro and installed the App on my iPhone. I shoot with a A7RIII. Any chance to find out which firmware is installed on my adapter? If 6.0.0 is installed I assume I should not upgrade to 7.0.0, since this is for the A7RIV, correct?

I don't know if you can actually check the firmware version, which I agree is kind of odd. I've always just updated to v6.0 for my adapters. You can downgrade freely if you wish (on the TAP adapter, obviously not the camera.. thanks Sony!).
As far as v7.0 I believe it is just for the A7RIV. Initial reports are that it's a definitely improvement in usability for the A7RIV but still not as good as A7R3 / A7R2 and TAP running firmware v 6.0.
It will probably not break anything to upgrade to v7.0 and use it with the A7RIII, but you may see worse performance than with firmware v6.0.
I wonder, what's the fastest solution to set the adapter into infinity mode? For landscape for example I want to set the Aperture to f8 which is easy and done on the lens itself, set the focus ring to infinity on the lens but then the adapter is still moving and I can only choose AF-S and AF-C mode. Is there a way without programming with Apps?

If I understand what you're trying to do correctly, you just want to get into manual focus mode, and then set the lens to infinity and not have the TAP adjust focus further at that point? If so.. you can assign "AF/MF Control Toggle" to a custom button and that should put you into manual focus mode and then TAP will not try and override focus. You can also choose which distance 'state' the TAP returns to once the camera is in MF mode..

I've just upgraded my A7R4 to firmware v1.2 and the TAP firmware to v7. I wouldn't describe the AF speed as fast but it is accurate and the pulsing I experienced with v6 has been eliminated.

Good to hear! Thanks for confirming the TAP is at least usable now on the A7R4!
This will be a longshot to troubleshoot myself, but my Techart adapter stopped working months ago suddenly. I would half-press the shutter, and the adapter motor would whir, but no forward/backward moving of the lens. I've since changed to a new Sony A7C and tried to see if a new camera would fix the issue. No dice. Still motor sound, but no movement. I updated to the latest firmware 7.0 and at least it does detect focus if I manually focus and then half-press the shutter, so I would think the computer portion of the adapter is working, as it seems to be reading focus. Going to try downgrading back to firmware 5.0 that I was using previously successfully with my Sony A7III. If that doesn't work, I may try to replace the motor myself. Does anyone here have any thoughts? Thank you in advance!
Is the TAP able to focus further from the center on A9 and A7 iii compared to A7R ii/iii/iv due to larger pdaf coverage? Also does larger number of pdaf points seem to help with accuracy? Finally, does the faster processor in A9 seem to help at all?
Techart is known to not be very communicative at all, so it's unlikely we'll know. Recently (well, December) they released a new firmware without even announcing it - it just appeared in the updater app's list of versions - that sort of vaguely makes the LM-EA7 work on the a7r4 body, but not really.
It's hard to imagine they'd tell us if something new were coming out.

Do we ever expect a newer version of the adaptor fixing the wobble problem? It's the only thing keeping me from buying one.
When they released a Leica M -> Nikon Z version of the adapter which addressed the wobble problem, I expected a revised Leica M -> Sony E version that would do the same thing. I no longer have any hope that this will happen.
That's interesting to see. Looks like they added a mode button and maybe(?) a USB port so you don't have to do updates over bluetooth.
I wonder what they're doing for software now - apparently the previous version just used the TechArt firmware untouched. If the hardware differs from TechArt's, they'll have to have their own, I guess.
I wonder if the Fotodiox one works properly with newer AF like on the a7r IV and a6600 (and A1, i assume).
