I'm trying to update the firmware of my TAP but the Android application keeps crashing immediately when I tap on "Update". I've tried with my Sailfish (compatible with Android) phone as well a friend's Android 5.0.2 phone, no luck.

Should I connect to the bluetooth device manually or should it be taken care of by the application? If I try to pair both devices manually, I get an error because the PIN code provided was wrong (I'm not prompted to enter any).

Has anyone been able to update a TAP recently? I'd really like to take advantage of that 5.0 firmware as I just found out that it fixes the battery leak.

[Edit] Just kept insisting and apparently it finally managed to pair with the TAP. Currently writing on it. I suppose the range of the bluetooth module of the TAP is just extremely short (both devices were about 20 cm apart for the first attempts).

I have two TAPs and on the occasions I've had to update their firmware the phone automatically pairs with the TAP. I've never tried to pair manually by entering a PIN (as one often has to do with Bluetooth devices).

Hey Guys,
I'm working in a small family owned camera store in Germany and we have a customer who wanted the adapter for a Sony A 7RII,s o we ordered one from our partner.
The adapter however isn't working on any supported Sony Full Frame E Mount Bodies we have in our store (one Sony a 7 RII and two A 7 II , all these were ordered in May) the interesting thing however the adapter is working perfectly fine on the 6000 series.

So we've sended back to our partner, he tested it with his older Sony A7 RII and it works.
We got sended another adapter as replacement and it also only worked on the 6000 series.
I'm loosing my mind about it, according to the support it has something to do with the dimensions of the a7 series and we should get another adapter which also did not work.

Has someone similar issues with newer A 7 II/RII Bodies ?

The first copy Techart sent me for a review did not start with the a7ii but it started with the a7 and communicated with it (AF of course didn't really work). The replacement worked fine with the a7ii.

Which lens(es) did you test with the Techart PRO and the A7 II / A7R II bodies?

The 50mm Summicron-M f2.0 and a 100mm Elmarit-R with the Fotodiox adapter both were working on the 6000 series on both adapters.

I think I maybe found the issue at least on the first Sony A 7 the adapter only works if I put pressure on the adapter so it fits more closely on the mount. But I couldn't replicate it on the A 7II /RII . Nevertheless we're sending it back and getting another replacement maybe it works this time.

I just got a TAP from UK . The moment I attached my Konica 90 mm F2 to camera [ A7 II ] - it started working like AF lens . I reconfigured the camera for 50 mm Leica F2 and it too . I was so excited but later found the AF is not spot on . I read lot of materials specifically the one by Viktor Pablovic @ http://www.verybiglobo.com/techart-pro-leica-m-to-sony-e-autofocus-adapter-user-review/ & followed the procedure as he mentioned .

1. I updated with the latest firmware version and while trying to configure the Phase Detect AF i saw this is disabled - - is this expected behavior once TAP is mounted .

2. After doing all other settings the lenses some times do focus properly but not always . My Canon 50 mm F1.4 LTM does better than Leica 50 mm F2 . Any idea if this is something everyone also experienced ?

This has undoubtedly been mentioned here somewhere but I hooked up my TA onto a A9 today with my ZM 35mm 1.4. Its what I would call adequate on my A7RII but on the A9 it was stunning! Still a bit of bouncing around but by and large extremely good!

What firmware do you have on the TAP? I did some testing this week with A9 and people walking with normal speed towards me were not always sharp with the TAP. The TAP does not seem to follow the quick AF from the SONY but this is not a surprise of course.
BTW, my only lens I use with the TAP is a Leica 50mm Summilux ASPH, and I mostly shoot wide open at 1.4.

I have the latest firmware 5? I was using the ZM 35mm 1.4 and @ 1.4 I was pretty much nailing everything! Im certainly not used to that with the A7r2.

Hi.
I just bought the Laowa 105mm STF lens, which is a $600 lens with optics that are apparently (at least, on the reviews I've seen) outstanding, and probably on par with the new sony 100mm STF which costs over $1000 more. The only problem is, the Laowa one is MF.
So.... I bought it in canon mount so I could use it via the TAP adapter. It's about 750g, so quite heavy. It arrived yesterday and in dim light it was really struggling to get focus (I thought pumping up ISO would make the AF work, as the shots were exposed great, shutter speeds up around 1/100, but no, the focus sucked).
Then today I tried it in daylight, and am super excited to report it was superb! The TAP nailed the focus easily, and repeatedly.
This is a fantastic combo. The test photos I snapped were really great, with super sharp subjects that pop from the buttery dreamy bokeh backgrounds.

You're probably aware of this but, if not, with such a heavy lens it's advisable to firmly support the lens and let the TAP move the camera body back and forth rather than to hold the camera and have the TAP move the lens (as one would do normally with a much lighter lens).

Is there a way to get Contax G lenses to work on this without converting the lens to work on M mount?

There is only a 1.2mm difference in flange distance between the 2, and I couldn't find any adapters between Leica M and Contax G. So I was wondering if anyone had found anything?

Good point. That may not be enough.
I simply don't know.

No, not possible at all. Having a shorter registry distance is not enough when the difference is only 1.3mm unless the adapted lens had a mount diameter considerably smaller than the camera mount to be fitted in, which is not the case. The bayonet flanges of Contax G and Leica M are similar in diameter.

What camera are you using? I've been very happy with the Techart TA-GA3 (Contax G to Sony E) autofocus adapter on the A7R2.
