Joining the posts of Batis 25mm although this one was captured a few years ago during the infamous “aqcua alta” in Venice. These 4 girls were out the at San Marco square close to midnight, cheerfully observing the phenomenon. With the help of @ ManuelLaMantia, I asked them to pose for me and took a long exposure of them. Needless to say, it was really difficult to stand still, especially to keep their umbrellas that way for 25 seconds. Their lower part of their body though was rendered well. FYI, this image was posted in the big FE thread a few years ago…

I would like to post some of my own Batis photos here but cannot figure out how to do it. Do I need to pay a subscription first?
Rob, you either subscribe to the Upload & Sell feature here, which helps this great forum or you link your images hosted on a different image hosting site, such as Flickr or similar. Looking forward to seeing your images here before too long.

Beautiful image, Joshua and great processing--very finely done. One of my other favorites of yours is from Piazza San Marco of a woman (your wife?) standing in the rain there with a transparent umbrella. Heavy rain is not only atmospheric in St. Mark's; it also helps to thin out the crowds!

Thank you very much, Peter! I have to say that your memory is excellent for remembering the details that well ! The other image was taken during the same aqcua alta, as well but facing more the tower Torre dell'Orologio. And that wasn’t my wife but one of of the 4 girls from the above image.

I liked that image very much. Was that one done with a Batis also?
Thank you, Peter. Yes, that was taken with the same Batis 25mm. You saw that image in the big FE thread and I don’t believe I posted it here in this thread previously. I will retrieve that image and re-edit and I will post that here, maybe by tomorrow.

Good, Joshua. It will be interesting to see what your re-editing does to the image.

Hi Peter, here it is. I reduced the apparent movement of the girl due to the long exposure but her umbrella was simply too blurry; it was quite windy that evening. And I also removed, more like reduced some glare in the upper section of the image partly due to rain drops or droplets in the bright spot lights.

Great image, Joshua. It feels to me like you brightened the midtones and tweaked the contrast also--but that may just be my memory of it. I enjoy looking at it! Venice is such a fabulous city.
