Here is a 15/2 video just released:

It shows the metal button was indeed for click/de-clicking and confirms the dimensions/weight.

Looked good. Sun stars are okay

I think it was 500g so not heavy at all. Look forward to tests

At f/2.0, this lens is a little faster than the Samyang XP 14mm. And it is an FE mount; so, no need for any adapter. The initial results I could gather from folks that already received the Samyang XP lens look promising. And then there will be another and even faster Sigma Art lens. This FL started to get crowded now and more power to us, the end users. Competition is good and we get to pick and choose . I mentioned this before... sorry for being redundant .

The new Samyang 14/2.4 is slower is almost twice the weight with adapter though. It will be way bigger too. The Sigma 14/1.8 is a monster...That's a huge disadvantage.
Of course what matters is IQ and hopefully the Laowa will deliver.

Looks pretty good. Sunstars aren't Loxia/Voigt quality but are better than I was expecting.

Size is pretty good for a lens this fast at this FL. I just wish it gave us EXIF.

Except for street and event people, the advantage of speed here is for astro so it's all about coma, vignetting, and sharpness wide open. The new Samyang XP so far looks really good - probably better than the Nikon 14-24. The Sigma 14 1.8 is a monster, but if Astro is your thing, then it's going to be hard to beat if it's good. At 30 sec exposures at 1.8, that's like ISO 1250.

I'm skeptical with the Sigma. Their 20/1.4 is not doing so hot. And both the Samyang + Sigma are monster when adapt on the E-mount. Plus, you don't have screw-in filter, not a big deal to some but definitely an annoyance.

I hope so too. This one is first high speed ultra wide that is designed specifically for digital mirrorless. If it has good sharpness and decent coma performance, it would be a huge hit. Heck, a 72mm filter thread is perfect for me as well.

For me the filter it is also what I'm looking for... using NDs when used for landscape and the posibility of astrophotography also there...

This may be going Too Far but....

*If* the Laowa 2/15 turns out to be optically great, but they ignore @Fred Miranda my and @BastianK pleas for a 10 blade iris

It ought be possible to get a good lens technician to install one (perhaps from the cheapest second hand cv lens we can find. Need to be the right size) These are fairly basic lenses, and I recall having the iris replaced in an old OM lens a long time ago...

I was wondering the same thing: Should I wait for that 15 2 or just get the Samyang XP.

The new sigma 14 sure looks nice but considering its weight I wonder how well will the MC11 resist the pull of the lens for hikers etc.
Why they didnt put a tripod foot on the MC-11 is beyond me. If you are going to release massive lenses you might as well consider something as simple as that.

I don't think many people will be hiking with the new Sigma 14!
Dedicated walks to an Astro location maybe if it meets expectations for coma.
But real hiking as part of an overall hiking kit?

I think you can probably fit a Novoflex ANSTAT-NEX tripod collar on the narrow part of the MC-11

Yeah pretty bizarre decision given the size of most of their lenses.

If it is the best lens in its range I would take for hiking no doubt.
BTW thanks for the tip on the collar, I will look into it.

I have the ANSTAT-NEX tripod collar and the MC-11, the collar is too narrow to fit.

Thanks a lot. I was seriously considering it. I hope somebody comes up with a similar collar for the MC-11.

Have you tried the thinner of the plastic washers that fit inside the ring? I found that by replacing the default one with the thinner one there are various lenses it would fit....
