The good thing is they designed for the M-mount as an afterthought. So most likely this lens has been optimized for the E-mount sensor glass thickness. This is certainly a more exciting E-mount lenses in the recent year.
I'm not sure about a 200mm manual focus lens...
After 85mm, I like AF on my lenses.
A very fast and compact 15mm is what I really need especially for nightscapes. Currently I have the CV 12/5.6 III and Loxia 21/2.8 lenses.
Hopefully this 15/2 will do the trick.
Im in a weird boat with a 12 and 25 which puts the 15 a little too wide. If its really really good than I may have to rethink things. My wheels are already turning in my head on what I want to do next

I am in the same boat lens wise. I do differ on the manual focus longer glass tho. I have and really like the Leica M 135/3.4 and R apo 180/2.8. The glass is great, small, fast, and can be used with TAP in a pinch. Now I grant you that eye AF is a boon to portrait photography, but for landscapes especially, I don't see the need for AF.

I was not referring to landscapes. For that, I'm 100% with you and actually prefer manual focus lenses at all focal lengths.
Does the range of ultra wide angle lenses feel a little crowded now? In addition to this lens you have the trio of CV 10mm, 12mm and 15mm, Laowa 12mm f/2, Samyang 14mm SP/XP f/2.4, Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Art and that just in the category of new lenses.
Yea it's crowded and they all missed the 18-28 mm range which is needed most. Honestly I'm having a hard time thinking any of these are better than the nice focal length for one and quality of the CV 12. I'm not a Astro guy so I am thinking in general type of shooting. The 15 is lovely in focal length but the 12 is special look to it. Call me crazy
Outside of that the CV trio is corner of the bag lens. Small, light and easy to focus. Do we really want a monster size here. AGeoJO wrote:
Another month or so, I believe.

Hmm. So if there's a rangefinder coupled version it raises the issue.....will it be optimized for the Sony or the Leica coverglass?
Was asking myself the same thing...
