BTW: Did anyone try that app I linked a few posts back? I tried it on my daughters android (), but could not get it to find the adapter.

I spoke to techartpro about the "135mm" issue.
I was told that it's design decision and not a bug

When setting the aperture to the 135mm, the adapter will switch to MF (instead of AF). The designer wanted to have one aperture choice where the adapter only works in MF.

My advise to them was to remove that and keep AF for that aperture. We can always switch the adapter to MF by pressing a custom button, so in my view, what they did is a little confusing and not needed.

Agree that should be a camera function and not a adapter function. I have no issue with some of our native lenses having AF/MF switches but no 3 rd party has those so the default should always be the body.

Silly question when you set the adapter for Exif 35mm and or 85mm let's say , since now the body knows the focal length . Is it now setting IBIS up automatically too. Yea I know silly basic question but want to make sure.

Guy, you have to set SteadyShot to ON and SteadyShot Adjust. to Auto.
If you set the latter to manual, then you have to select the correct focal length.
Auto is the way to go though.

Have them both set to auto just wanted to be sure it's doing what I think it is supposed to be doing. Thanks

Thumbs up!
Though there is no auto for SteadyShot, only ON or OFF on my A7r2 (with 55/1.8 mounted).

So,for the people whose phone FW updater app can see the adapter, do you see it as a device in the BT settings of your phone?

I can't.

BT is on, but still no communication with the adapter.

Another question, if we want to set the FL manually for IBIS, and want to use the adapter's AF function, what's the procedure - is there an aperture setting that enables the AF function w/o auto-FL for IBIS?

I didn't see one in the manual or in their FAQ.

I didn't see a version for IOS, just android (on an iPhone). I wonder if there's one available.

I assume your IOS FW updater app can see the adapter (to verify that the BT in the techart is functioning)

Yes, it's android only and it's beta. I don't think it's available to the public yet but they allowed me to post here. I can update the adapter firmware so my adapter's bluetooth is fine. Perhaps the app works in a different way. I just asked them.

Here are the firmware update instructions:

Firmware Upgrade Instructions
1) Make sure the battery level of your camera and phone is >50%
2) Make sure the Auto-Lock of your phone is OFF
3) Plug in the adapter to your camera body
4) Turn ON the camera, change the aperture value to F/90 (not F/9 !), release the shutter
5) Turn OFF the camera (IMPORTANT!)
6) Run the app in the smartphone and select the firmware 2.0 under LM-EA7
7) Click ‘Update’
8) Wait around 10 mins for the update to complete
9) When the screen shows Update Complete, please wait 1 minute for the adapter before turning the camera back on.

Thought F90 was a typo, and didn't look for it. I’m so dense sometimes.

Thanks a million for answering all these questions!

Edit - was the "select firmware 2.0" a typo? We want v3.0, yes?

Yeah, saw that. Not even a "Notify when in stock" option either.
My SN is over 4700

I'm just learning as I go. I just got the adapter as well and luckily it already had the latest firmware version.

So that's about 5,000 * $300 = $1.5M in revenue.

The more I think about this, the more excited I get. The idea is absolutely brilliant. I can now have my Rokkor 58/1.2 autofocus. I can have my sweet C/Y 35/1.4 autofocus. I can have my C/Y 100/2 autofocus. This adapter is revolutionary. It means I need to swap my A7s for the A7ii and lose silent shutter, but that's worth it for getting AF with these lenses in return.

It opens up a whole new world with legacy lenses. My Voigtlander M-mounts now AF. My Leica R 28 now AFs. I have another adapter coming on Monday for my Contax 35-70/3.4 and 100/3.5. It's exciting.

I think I can speak for a lot of us here because I think we all share the same dilemma of going third party and that is we need to manually focus which involves at least some functionality to preform the task. You may do one or all of them focus peaking, magnifying , recomposing and maybe some other things to get focus. Let's admit it , it's a hassle and you can like it, hate it or whatever feeling you may have towards it but it's slow. I'm pretty good at it but it is slower than AF. Let's be honest as good as I am at it the AF is just flat easier and now it's even accurate. I think for many this opens up new doors. We can go back grab some lenses and have enough AF speed to satisfy most of our needs. This is huge. Having like the GM 24-70 and the 85 it may cover just about every need you come across. With this now we can play more. This does change the I want to go native mount now. This does change a lot of things for a lot of us old ducks that are getting up in age with more eye problems too. Just think this is still Gen 1 as well it can only get even better.

Another silly question... how do you set the adapter for correct Exif?

You set a certain aperture on the body take a shot and it records it. For instance my 35mm ZM I put on body on camera I rotate aperture to let's say F45 ( I forgot the number) take a shot and it sets the Exif for 35mm lens . Than rotate aperture all the way back on camera to fully wide open as it will go. Leave it there it's F2 btw than go ahead to shoot for real use the aperture on lens. Now you have 35mm lens in Exif and your IBIS now knows it's a 35 lens. It's actually quite fast to setup.
