This last page has sold me the final 10%. Never thought I'd actually lose the 100MP
I owned the 100MP not too long ago. The original and the new Milvus. For me, this is a much better lens in many ways.
1. Autofocus. I always worried about getting things in focus with the Zeiss
2. CA drove me nuts sometimes on the zeiss, I haven't noticed at all on this lens yet.
3. Build quality.....I know you zeiss guys will disagree, but I have broken one lens over the past 9 years. Guess what it was.....the 100MP. It just tapped a door frame when hanging from my side and it was done for. I don't think any of my plasticky Nikons would have had an issue. Honestly I hated that metal body. I was always worried it would get scratched.
4. I basically only used my 100MP as a macro lens. Being F2 was too close to my 70-200's 2.8 which I never had to worry about getting focus with. And if I wanted that distance with shallow depth of field, the 85 1.4 is also a safe alternative.

Dude I hate that for you. I know your anticipation was very high to receive that today and I can feel your anticipation and angst along with you. So now what? Do you have to go pick it up? Do you think you'll be able to get it today or tomorrow?
Tomorrow. I shall have my 105E tomorrow guys

Just go camp out at the nearest UPS depot and wait until the trucks comes back from deliveries. Anything to get that lens a day sooner!!!! I feel the pain.

Thanks Nathan, I appreciate your info.
I have similar thoughts as well, but definitely not surrounding the build quality. Regardless, I think I know my next step and it's thanks to the work of the community. Appreciated!

DUDE WOW! These are the shots I was looking for. You and Nathan have the best examples so far.
Those who say the 200/2 doesn't render images close to 105E, are wrong.
This lens is definitely a mini chubmeister! The background is spectacular!
Gracias Mate!
Welp, first shoot with this beast
I got many more keepers with this, than I expected.
Worth noting that I use LR6 EXCLUSIVELY. for ALL pp.
I don't have any purchased filters of any sort, plug-ins, or 3rd party modules.
I don't add sharpness.
I just mess with a couple sliders in LR and boom.
I have not done any af micro adjust testing yet.
Modes, today I was shooting A mode @ 1.4
utilizing auto iso, with base 64
minimum ss 125
auto2 w/b
In this image Abby is walking towards me, swiftly. I'm using 3D AF.
nothing special about this, but then I noticed pixie dust above her left hand. it's from the chalk that is on her hands! you can see the pez dispenser that she removed from my hot shoe.
Just a couple of head shots from the camera store today. Artificial lights. Window light for the fill. I don't have kids, so this is what I got at the store as I was waiting for the traffic to ease. Not as cool as Dj R, but ......
