I gave your set up a go, minus the hair light. I put a honey comb grid on the backdrop and got a nice white to black look on the backdrop and I stood 2 meters from the backdrop. I then set my main light 5 meters from me just to the right of my camera and when I took the shot the main exposed my backdrop overpowering the effect from the honey comb.
My backdrop is white and both strobs were set at their lowest setting.
It was I who started this thread..I never would have believed how much help came from it..my thanks to Everyone
It was stuck at one time for quite a long time..Now its moving up and down quickly..
But whats the answer ..It cant stay Stuck Forever....
Been waiting for the arrival of my Octa Box. The difference it has already made is amazing. My floor space is a bit tight, but after seen other set ups on here I dont think I can complain.
@matt.
Try to get a balance between your mainlight and the effect light.
Also when you have the overpowering, angle the mainlight more to the side.
Make sure they are BOTH on the same side, so the effect light will light the backdrop, the mainlight the model in an ANGLE almost alway's arround 45-50 degrees in my case.
I use barndoors on my mainlight when I have spill.
When using a softbox there will alway's be spill.
Oh on the end
I have also the plexiglass but because I got alot of negative remarks of using the sheets in almost every shoot I now shoot 90% without plexiglass (also very nice when done correctly) and I use some weights to hold the paper down, I change alot during a session so tape is no option for me.
How would you guys paint a brick wall? I have an extra room we added to the house. More like enclosed a porch we had but one wall is brick. I'd like to utiilize it. I dont have a studio but I may just convert the extra room to one.
