I've had the GR3-X for a couple of outings now. It's a good camera, basically exactly the same performance and handling as the GR3, except for the focal length.
And the focal length is different, but not dramatically so. So if you're used to GR shooting, you're not going to be blown away. And that's OK!
A couple of observations though:
1 the "f5.6 and be there" settings of the GR now should read "f.5.6, be there and focus". The longer focal length dictates more awareness to focusing
2 i wonder if the 26mm vs 18mm focal length is worth it. it would have been more attractive if the focal length would have been a 65mm FF equivalent (or thereabouts) rather than a 40mm equivalent.
3 i like the macro images that zeitlos put up above. Perhaps that's the strong point of the X.
4 a separate lens ring is available to segregate the GR3 from the X. I will add something a bit more tactile though, perhaps a piece of rough sticky tape.

Happy to post larger images for the researchers amongst you.
Is anyone looking at getting the GT-2 teleconverter for the IIIx? I’m really curious if it works WITHOUT the crop mode or if you have to crop automatically.
@AbramG - This is not a definitive response, but (from a search of Japanese websites) it looks like, when you put on the GT-2, the GR IIIx switches to the 50mm crop mode and you get a 75mm EFOV and, if you go to the second (71mm) crop mode you get an FOV of 105.5mm. Below is the GoogleTranslate translation:
Looking at the specifications table, it is said that when this GT-2 is attached to the GR IIIx, an angle of view equivalent to 75mm can be obtained with a 35mm equivalent focal length. I wondered if this was a calculation error, but when the GT-2 is installed, the GR IIIx is automatically cropped to an angle of view equivalent to 50mm in the 35mm equivalent focal length. "50mm" is displayed in the upper right corner of the monitor. Since the angle of view is 50mm, which is equivalent to the 35mm format, it is the theory that you can get an angle of view of 75mm by installing the GT-2 on it, which is equivalent to 1.5 times. Furthermore, if you set the built-in crop of GR IIIx to be equivalent to 71mm, what happens is that you can obtain an angle of view of 106.5mm in the equivalent of 35mm format.

One thing about the GR cameras, it seems to me that there's no satisfactory forum on which post: the less said about the DPReview RicohTalkForum the better; here, in this thread, the viewership is extremely low — indeed, nothing has been posted since my last post above for 5 days — and to post here, I have to post on flickr and then link. Maybe I'll just limit myself to Instagram, which has issues of its own.

Yes indeed Mitch, agreed. Actually the overall flow of the Alternative thread views and postings seem to be at snail's pace.

The interest in this thread nowadays is disappointing for sure. It seems to me that with each GR release, there is some fanfare, a bunch of people jump onboard because of YT reviews without really knowing what the GR is all about, and then decide they prefer their Sony A7-14 or whatever, and dump them. The hardcore GR fans are few & far between. I thought there would be an uptick with the release of the GR IIIx, but maybe there is a delay due to supply, maybe there just isn't interest this time. Maybe when the GR IV comes out!
A few from the walk home from work with the GR IIIx;
Been a while since I posted here, spent a lovely half an hour on the docks in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh waiting for a boat to Sonadia to do some birding, I got much better market photos than bird photos:
Four's Head this morning (11/13/21) in Putney, from Hammersmith Bridge.
After a couple of outings I have decided to sell my GR III-X. For my way of shooting, the 40mm fullframe equivalent is too close to the 28mm of the GR III. If you're in the UK and interested, please shout.

Really nice!
I was recently going through an external hard drive, and found two days of photos from a transit across Alaska a couple of years ago, that somehow weren't transferred to my main drive.
With the GR3x, I've been trying to use mainly the JPG Hi-Contrast-B&W and Positive Film presets; but, for these types landscapes, I find it easier to work with the DNGs, because it's so hard to judge small difference on the LCD screen of the camera. Anyone have any suggestions on recipes for the JPG Hi-Contrast-B&W and Positive Film presets?

I have a LR preset that is close to the Hi-Contrast jpg on the GR, but I typically use it on RAW flies from other cameras to emulate what I get SOOC on the GR III(x).
Here it is applied to a GR III shot just for example:

Great pics!
Honestly, as someone who has had to switch off some more pleasing to better focusing lenses due to a lot of missed family photos... if the GR IV/x has remarkably better AF I'm in. I used to do quite a bit of travel photography, and I would have given anything those days to have this little beast. AF wasn't so important then, and the form factor/IQ combo out of this camera seem pretty sublime. Not to mention that 1:2 reproduction ratio!
Maybe when my kid(s) has moved out I'll give one of them my current kit and pick up the GR V/VIx by then .
