Thought about picking up a GR series camera. First time seeing the gallery of images. Nothing really stands out that makes me want to ditch an older Leica X2 with Olympus EVF. Am I missing something after only seeing 3 pages or am I expecting too much

Continue to use what works for you. The GR isn't going to be the best in IQ, AF, nor is the lens that it has going to give you the best 3D pop. It's about trying to give you the best combination possible in a small package. Some don't mind carrying around a full frame camera and a 24-70 around everyone, while other despise it and carry around a cell phone in their pocket. It's not going to please those that pixel peep and say that it's not as good as their full frame cameras or on the other end of the spectrum that their phone cameras, their Panasonic GM5's with an tiny EVF, or their 1" sensor compact can do just about the same.
Thank you for this response. It makes better sense now.

One of my first photos with the new GRIIIx. Most likely, I'm going to concentrate on shooting in two JPG modes with this camera, Positive Film and Hi-Contrast B&W. For this image, however, I used these two JPG modes as the basis for processing the DNG file in Lightroom and SilverEfex. I still have to refine the JPG recipes before I start seriously to use the SOOC images.

I checked in with my favourite camera store, (The Camera Store ) to see when they were going to get the GR IIIx in, and if I could be put on a waitlist. To my surprise they had one available! They hadn't had a chance to put it on their website yet, that's how perfect my timing was. At any rate, I'll be getting it early next week, and I'm super excited. A standard-ish focal length is something I've wanted from Ricoh since I first got it... Although I figured they would just make a converter lens.

I would have liked a tele-converter, but I suspect that, for the GR III with its APC-S sensor, it would have been too big a chunk of glass to be practical — going by the one Ricoh made for the GRD II. The latter one was already quite big and Ricoh couldn't eliminate internal reflections that resulted in prominent flare in one of the corners whenever there was backlight of sidelight. I found I could get rid of the flare circle by converting to B&W and processing — in color the flare was very prominent; but often these flare circles were beautiful, though I never had the imaginations to use them. Indeed, I wish I still had the GRD II and its tele-converter! Here are two images with using that camera and tele-converter that I can't resist posting again.

I imagine it would have been about the size of the new GT-2 1.5x converter available for the GR IIIx... Which I am still undecided on. I have the GW-4 0.75x converter, and I hardly use it.
Which brings me to wonder whether or not the GA-1 adapter will physically fit on the GR IIIx, I use it to attach a hood to sometimes, would be nice not to have to buy the new GA-2 adapter for when I want to use a hood on the new cam.
Those are some fine pics! I see why you wish you still have then ol' GRD II!!
