Congratulations to troy bilt for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
I spent close to 2 weeks this spring at Magee Marsh Photographing. There where some very slow days, but we had 2 of the best days I have had there in the last 5 years or so. All the birds dropped from the tree tops and where within feet of us. Hope you enjoy.
Great work Troy. I throughly enjoyed our time shooting together at Magee Marsh this year and already look forward to next year. My pick is #9, really cute.
I was all set to pick the upright little killdeer for the cuteness factor but then I went on to the black billed cuckoo which simply blew me away. Knowing how difficult it is to catch those guys is enough but to get such a shot. Oh, my. Well done on all of these! One of these days, I WILL get to Magee Marsh.
Great set of Warblers! Outstanding detail on a bunch of birds that rarely hold still .
I was wondering if #1 & #6 could be Macgillivray's Warbler, though? I think the Northern Parula's wings are more bluish than brownish, and the bird in the photo seems to lack the black neck-band and brown/rufous patch on the chest that would come with a Northern Parula.
