p.1 #1 · Pileated Woodpeckers at the nest with babies
I've had lots of Pileated Woodpeckers in my backyard at the suet feeder but this was a first for me to visit a nearby nest with babies in it. Quite something to watch the parents fly in about every half hour or so to feed the babies. I was amazed at how the parent was careful to ensure that each baby got some food each time they came back. All but one of these were shot with the Nikon D500 the other with the D4.
