Mitech you suddenly have a best friend (ME), how do you do this (8percent off Ebay)? What is your magic. I'm looking at a Sony 500/4 and that would be right at $800 off! PLEASE show me the magic dust you wield!!

Sorry, buddy, no magic here. Also, the reward is capped at $100 per item 😕. I'm contemplating buying back the Sony FE kit I sold off. I could actually buy it back for less than I sold it for!

Excellent. Please share your experiences. TIA.
I will first keep an eye on how the GFX 5OS system develops ... before seriously considering a purchase.

Sorry, I was just kidding! I would love that but it's too expensive for me ... so I may just have to settle for a lowly FF Sony.

Bobby, I assumed you were kidding.
But I wasn't. However, I first want to see what Sony is doing as a follow-on to the A7r.2.

and the new rumored tele by Sony, hmmm.

Well I shot inside studio this morning, a cat shot, used 1DXii. I don't understand the warring between camera factions. I love them all In fact just popped a Rokinon 12mm/2 onto the EOS M5-yet another little joy.

And I know you are not, and I hate you for that!

Sony has been real slack lately. They used to have a new model every few months! What happened to that?

I think they were in a great hurry to make a really good body and they finally got it right with the A7R II ... so there is less of an urgency to release a new model. The A7R II isn't perfect, of course, but they got most of the important things right except for maybe the battery which still sucks.

Thanks Bobby.
Yup, seems that way as well.
I love using my A7r.2. Great camera.
It would benefit though from the improved AF speed in the a6300 (that I have) or the a6500.
I use a power battery hand grip, so I am mostly fine with battery life.
Nevertheless, that the tsunami devastated their sensor factory didn't help.
IMHO Sony had to first catch up with existing sensor demand before introducing a new larger one.

I should have waited 3 more months and I would have gotten the a6500 instead.
But I use a stabilized lens on the a6300, so I get good use out of the a6300 anyway. Will skip the a6500.

Problem with the a6300/a6500 is that the camera is too small and unbalanced when you stick a big/long lens to it. And if you are not using a long lens with those 2 cameras then would you even own the a6300/a6500 if you already have the A7R II?

K-H, Bobby, please tell me more about the long lenses for the a6000, a6300, a6500. We have the a6000 and a6300 but I drew the line when I saw nothing e-mount greater than 300mm coming my way....yes we have the 70-300G, marginal lens, not as sharp as the 70-200 e-mount. This why I'm now fully immersed into the Olympus. IF Sony had answered this need I probably wouldn't be in the mFT world!

I still shoot my a7Rii, in fact it is schedule to attend our trip to the American southwest in May/June hoping to find a Milky Way somewhere. When I have to walk to the site that's the camera I want in my pack for that.

Speaking of the a7Rii, it really sits a lot now that in my daily sling bag can be found the RX100v, now that is a lot of technology in a small space. It makes a wonderful carry along with the Oly M1ii + 100-400mm; those two cover a lot of ground.

Bobby,

Which lenses did you try with a6300? I thought the Canon 100-400 balanced well enough. I was happier with the a6300 + 100-400 combo than 7D2 + 100-400!
