I don't have that camera but my buddy Joshua was using that body with his Canon 400L II + TC and it looked a little ridiculous. Would look even more absurd with the 500L, 600L or 800L. He has sold the a6300 and he's now using his 400L II + TC on the A7R II.

Bobby,
Which lenses did you try with a6300? I thought the Canon 100-400 balanced well enough. I was happier with the a6300 + 100-400 combo than 7D2 + 100-400!

Problem with the a6300/a6500 is that the camera is too small and unbalanced when you stick a big/long lens to it. And if you are not using a long lens with those 2 cameras then would you even own the a6300/a6500 if you already have the A7R II?
Well Bobby I am using the Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens on my a6300. Handles fine for me.
As the A7r.2 the a6300 also has PDAF and can use the TAP.
The a6300 also seems to have better 4K video IMHO.
In Sony land I started out with NEX-5N (great camera for its time) and NEX-7 (not as good with some Leica lenses).
As I still have those cameras I can compare the a6300 with them.
I would say quite a bit of improvements have been made.
Once an A7r.3 comes out I am sure it would eclipse the a6300/6500 in every way.

Gotcha. Yeah, I put the a6300 on the 800L a few times and it did look quite comical . It pairs perfectly with 100-400, and does very well with a 1.4x added.

One of the most incredible lenses + the most incredible sensor; Joshua has chosen well! I remember his images from Costa Rica with that combo and they are amazing. Problem is having to carry that 400IIii/2.8, that will never be fun. When I was in Panama I watched a Hungarian photog labor with the same lens. Worth it for some but not for me anymore.
Joshua had also used his FE 70-300 in Costa Rica, and frankly, I wasn't too impressed. Although it's decently sharp, it wasn't as sharp as my 300 PRO - and it didn't have as much resolution/detail either. The Sony FE 70-300 is an inexpensive consumer lens and the Oly 300/4 is a pro-grade lens. I guess you get what you pay for! However, my 300/4 PRO couldn't compete with his Canon 400L II - it doesn't blow the 300/4 out of the water but it is visibly/slightly better. This was the image I had compared it to.
Edit: Correction - just realized that this image was taken with my 40-150 PRO.

Unfortunately, with that extension tube in the middle, he won't be able to focus at infinity.
Does focus peaking matter for/with infinity ??
I got a Rokinon 12/2 in M-mount yesterday and focus peaking works a charm.
Just asking. Please be nice. You know I'm sensitive

Yes, I either need to buy a Mk2 1.4 or 2.0 extender or just use 1200mm on the M5. But I have shots 1200mm on the 7D2 and 5DSR already so have seen what it can produce....beautiful details on a clear Yukon night...

1200mm on a 1.6 crop body? Pfft! Surely you jest! Maybe I should buy that EOS-m43 adapter Tony's got listed and then put my 800mm + 2x on the E-M1.2. Then you'll all be in awe as you behold the power of 3200mm FOV!! Robert, I'm bringing it to TN to shoot your pet cardinals. Gonna count their eyelashes
Well I'll whip out the Swarovsky 95ATX and shoot at 3300mm ha! You know I need to try the M1ii on it. We normally keep an a6000 glued to the scope but the M1ii would be better for several reasons-frame rate and crop factor. I just don't have enough time to play like I want.
What state are you in Mitesh?

Just give up the dream now Mitesh....no matter what you try Romy will have you beat and you will just embarrass yourself anyways...
