Had some time to kill the other day so I stopped in at one of the local hockey rinks, where off-season 3-on-3 leagues are underway. Not uncommon to see girls teams playing against boys, which was the case that day. D500 and 70-200 through the glass.
Must say the focusing system of the D500 is extremely impressive, it only misses because of human error for me so far. Image quality is if I had to rate 8/10. Not the best but not horrible by any means for a APC sensor
Is it worth the money, for me for sure especially for shooting sports.

I do miss D9, though. D25 is too wide in congested sports situations, and causes too many misses. I'm back to single point for hockey.
I am still trying to learn this whole AF system the D500 throws at you. I am used to the D700, simple and works. The images I threw away were because of either bad framing or bad timing. The ones that were out of focus were on me. This really is the best AF I have ever seen.
I was leaning towards a D4 but went with the D500, no regrets so far.
Does anyone have any websites I could look at for resources on information for the D500?
