I have a Breakthrough Photography CPL that doesn't seem to cause any hard vignetting. I haven't tried to see whether it has had any impact on vignetting though. It is a little difficult to remove as the thinner the filter, the less there is to grab onto when unscrewing. Given that the front rotates by design, it leaves little to grab onto the way the hood is designed.

anyone have a suggestion on a circular polarizer that won't vignette with this lens?

Btw the E version seems to be slightly different physically . Petals are not as extended and it is nice to have that Exif data. I'm going to try and run a Big Bronco test this weekend , it may get side tracked as my daughter is about to delivery her second child any day , hour, minute. Lol
First I have to replace my garage door opener like right now. It's been down the last three days. What a hassle
I packed my grandpa kit last night a6300, Cv 15, Loxia 21 and the cv 35 1.7. One of them has got to work. Lol
My arm is tired of lugging the GMs and Rokinon 135 for three days but man they are fabulous workhorse lenses. I'm really loving the GMs a lot.

First of all, thank you for all the information in this forum.
I was thinking to buy one in Japan because the 8% tax free, so I did some quick test to the unit they have at Yodobashi Camera Store in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
Now, I can confirm the same for the japanese version.
Next week I'm going to Tokyo and there I'm going to try in Map Camera to see if they are aware of that or if they have some units to test berfore buying. I had something similar with my Sigma 10-20mm whith my old Canon 7d.
FWIW, I bought my 15vIII M version at Map. They didn't like the idea of me taking a new-in-box unit out of the box to test before paying for it. I was handed the shelf-demo unit for this purpose. I'm not sure if this is typical in Japan, or unique to Map, or just was a language barrier thing. Normally when in a store (here in Canada), I would test a lens I intend to buy before paying for it, particularly anything on the wide to UWA side, specifically due to past experiences with receiving decentered lenses...

This is good to know, as I also have a Breakthrough 58mm CPL and was hesitant to put it on the lens for fear of trouble getting it off again, due to the interference of the hood petals. Can you touch on any other difficulties, if any, you've had with the filter in use, etc.?

I have only used the lens with filters during one waterfall trip. The way the light was, I was using a 3 stop ND and a CPL. Specifically a Breakthrough Photography ND and a Cokin Pure Harmonie CPL. There was a little more vignetting (but not hard vignetting) but it was usable. The Cokin CPL has extremely thin front threads, and the CV cap design means that it won't stay on the CPL. I was able to mount and dismount this filter combo pretty effectively though. I have not tried it, but I suspect it may be very hard to remove the Cokin CPL if you were to use it alone. I have a Breakthrough Photography CPL for that purpose. I carry a bare CPL and a ND/CPL combo (usually a 3 stop ND) for my lenses so I can make changes more quickly.
Today, I'm getting a Vu 3 stop ND filter. It appears to be .3 mm thinner than the Breakthough Photography ND. I'm hoping that the ND/CPL combo has even less vignetting. Then I'll be a happy camper.
I also use this approach for my Loxia 21 and my Pentax 28 f/3.5. When I'm hiking and shooting waterfalls, I like to keep pretty nimble and not have to spend a lot of setup and tear down time. Unscrewing a CPL from an ND and then screwing it back on as the light changes is annoying for the way I shoot. I'd rather just take off the ND/CPL combo and put on a CPL.
So as I use the lens more and more, I can probably give more feedback. I will say that removing the hood (yourself...like Guy or via SK Grimes) might make a lot of the challenges go away. As it stands right now, you need a thin filter with this lens, but then it gets harder to remove the way the hood is designed. So you almost need something that's not too thin...and not too thick.

I think my third one has a few good corners. More testing required.
It is amazing how good a good corner can be! Now I just need one with 4...need one with 4...need one with 4...

In an attempt to search for a Choppy-like CV15 E-mount, I ordered the 2nd copy from Photo Village. It came here very fast, and I got a chance to compare it with my 1st CV15. Here it is...
It looks like the 2nd copy of CV15 is even worse than the 1st one, which only has a small smearing at the very last part of the corner. I might just keep this 1st copy of CV15.
Also, I retested the corners of 1st copy of CV15 at f/8.0 and f/11. It looks like at f/11.0, most of smearing is gone. I wonder if it also happens to CV15 copies from others?

Wow, I was going to joint the E-mount lottery process with this lens before I spent 3 weeks in Europe next month, but I think I'll just work with my pretty-good-copy VM version until this all gets sorted out - if it ever does.
It may take Voigtlander months and months to even think of figuring this out if they ever care to.

It's a shame you can't just send the 3 corners back....

I don't really notice an improvement in my corners (at infinity) going from f/8 to f/11. If anything it might be slightly worse due to diffraction.

So I tried that "Vu" filter..seems like it's a bust. It might be slightly thinner, but it also seems to be stronger than my Breakthrough Photography 3 stop ND. I also notice vignetting that goes much further towards the center of the frame. I'm scratching my head on that one. Is it something about the thickness of the glass and the sharp angle of the rays of light? I wasn't expecting such a dramatic difference in vignetting between these 2 3 stop filters.
The Breakthough ND/Cokin CPL combo does vignette at the tips of the corners.....it's almost a hard vignette, but it still is correctable and in many cases isn't that noticeable.
