I was in Mt Rainer National Park and only shot with my 24-70 2.8.... Had a Breakthrough ND and Polarizer.. 20 sec exposure perhaps a bit over kill. No crop just resize

Gorgeous shots Jorge! Where do you live? The last shot looks like a fairy tale scene. I would have had some serious fun there as a child.
Thanks. I live in Portland Or. Those shots where in my wife's home town back in England.

Having Batis 25 and Sony Zeiss 55, should I switch to this 24-70? Although I love primes, many times when I went out with my family and kids, I felt I miss a zoom. I had 24-70/4 but I didn't like it and sold it.
Pleas keep posting more pictures @ 2.8.

I guess the question is whether you need f2 at 25mm and f1.8 at 55mm or not? If you don't have the need for speed, but for flexibility, and don't mind carrying around the big zoom, it may be worth replacing the two primes with the GM.
Given the praise the zoom has earned on these boards from Fred, Guy and others, I don't think you would give up that much in image quality at f2.8 and below. It basically becomes a question of cost (money/size/weight) and need/want of f1.8/f2 versus more flexibility and reach.

If you can be happy at like F4 which I think is very good across all the focal lengths at least on center and most focal lengths even good at 2.8 than yes it's awesome for that. I honestly would count on 24-50 as prime replacements. If you can work at some of the slower apertures. I'm being conservative here too because even wide open some focal lengths are really good. Now corners obviously you need a little more again I'm being conservative because this lens is brilliant . But if you need the speed and don't want to push ISO too high than you need at least one or two fast primes. I have the RXr II at F2 and the new 50 1.4 so when the stuff hits the fan I have those options.

Thank you Chris. I don't really need fast speed at 25mm so I think 24 to 35mm @2.8 is more than enough for me. However, I may miss wide open @55mm. I think if I get 24-70 GM then I just need to sell the Batis 25, and keep 55 as Fred told himself never sold that lens ;-)
I was thinking about adding Batis 85mm to have a combo of 3 primes, but I read so many good reviews about the zoom and its convenience making me think again. The cost will be okay for me if I sell B25. I just concern about its weight ;-) but I heard that it's not to bad ;-). If it is as heavy as 24-240 then I can handle it. (I tried the 24-240 couple days before). Thank you for your input.

Thank you very much, Guy, for the information. Wow, when you say it's as good as primes from 24-50, I want this zoom more ;-) I think I will keep 55/1.8 because I would miss it badly if I part it. So instead of adding Batis 85, I may just sell B25 and then buy 24-70 G.
So, would you go with 24-70 GM+ 55/1.8 over a set of B25+B85 + Z55? I think I can get good background at 70mm f2.8 and 55 1.8 gives me good environmental portraits of my family members. I'm having A7II, not A7RII.

Getting the 24-70 GM while holding on to the 55 1.8 seems like a very reasonable choice. I got my 55 1.8 on day one and after using it a bit more again recently, think that it's definitely a keeper (unless one dislikes the rendition and/or needs f1.4).
I've only handled the 24-70 GM in a store for a few minutes. Honestly, I expected it to be heavier. It didn't feel uncomfortable at all, even though it is obviously big when compared to a 55 1.8.

I would keep the 55 for the times you need the speed. Maybe try renting the 24-70 for a couple days

Your lens quandary is identical to mine. Add B85 to the B25 and Z55 or get 24-70GM and sell B25.
If the GM is at least as sharp as the B25 and a uniform copy I'll move to the GM. Tomorrow will tell weather permitting.

Wow... just ordered a 24-70 GM from Amazon and someone had the gall to replace it with a Sony Zeiss 24-70 A-Mount lens... now I know Amazon definitely resells returned items as new and doesn't even check returns...
