BTW Im selling my Nissin flash and air commander since i have the bigger Goox AD 360 i bougt there new portables this morning. So the Nissin is on the block. This way i only have one transmitter to deal with. So I will have 3 AD 360 and two portables and can sync everything with one transmitter. Just makes more sense . I know too logical

yep, on days i need it, that was the plan / trade-off - it just doesn't get to live indoors...

The crops are with the lens profile . Obviously you would do this in real world anyway. Distortion is pretty bad but it does clean up

the Nissin is a GREAT flash / commander for anyone interested...
but understandable to stick with one "family" if you have a system already, as in your case.

Guy - are those crops from the 28mm lens with or without the distortion correction applied?
I always wonder how much corner sharpness if affected by distortion correction on lenses that have more than a fair amount of distortion.

It does have a affect its fairly slight though. Just was looking at it, really not bad but you really want the lens profile on as its really bad. Im being critical though as you would expect.

I got ND1000 and ND400 pro II mc screw-ins right now in 58 and 82mm sizes. I sold the 100x100 kit due to my hazardous photo trips. There was too real danger of shattering those large pieces of glass inside my backpack.

I am about to purchase few 6-stoppers tonight.

My screw up as i did not know they had screw ins only 100x100 and 150x150

So which 6 stop ND do you have as I may get the Haida, Cheaper for sure

This is a side wall for the center crops i do. Im not going to post the full wall but will upload this whole test to so you folks can play.

Im throwing in the Loxia 50mm F2 center crop just for completeness

So my opinion here is this the Loxia lenses are some of the best glass around we have seen how good the 21 and 50 are but the bottom line on them is this when they went to the size they did with the optical design it induced some filed curvature . Why we are seeing the corners on the zoom come up sooner is its more flat field but at the same token the Loxia's are better on center and for that reason as much as you may love the Zoom it does not hurt you one bit having a Loxia 50 in the bag when the center is the most important and you need F2. To me these lenses compliment each other and you could use either in many situations. let me get the raws uploaded and you can play around with them. Thanks

Not to highjack the thread, but how often do you guys want to use and ND and polarizer together? The only real situation would be in the middle of the day when you want to slow water and have a lot reflections.... but I'm slow so

Really for me it would have to be water for reflections ( CPL) and the ND to slow it all down. But again 2 filters you also run the risk of glass reflections and lower optical quality stacking. Like folks use grad filters and i never use them. I can do anything to a sky in post. If anything I will shoot a sky exposed correctly and a foreground shot and blend them. My theory on filters is minimalist thinking the less the better. But some folks are out there stacking 3 or more filters.

Short story I was teaching a workshop in Arcadia National Park and about 40 people are shooting this lighthouse and i had about 8 people in our group. For some reason Im the highest on this hill because I want my group to have the better angles than me so Im at the top and the sun breaks and i hear 30 motor drives going like crazy i mean it sounded like a machine gun troop going off. I pop my 3 shots look back at my group and by than there laughing there butts off and I say wow that lighthouse most be moving so fast you all need motor drives. Well about all 30 put there heads down in embarrassment. Not one of them could actually give me a good reason either. Overkill you don't need to do it.

i'm about to report on an alternative to the Tenba Cooper 13 slim (which i love) - it should arrive this week: it's bigger but not by much and has some really interesting looking features: Peak Design Everyday Messenger.
https://www.peakdesign.com/product/bags/the-everyday-messenger/

the biggest feature i'm looking fwd to checking out is the magnetic clasp system with 4 positions to allow the bag to be as small/big as you need it to be.

My Tenba Cooper 13s was perfect until i replaced the batis 85 with the 85 gm - the casualty was that i'm no longer able to also include my nissin di700a flash,
...Show more

I like the look of that Copper 13 slim. Currently using ThinkTank ChangeUp 2.0 and various pouches for video accessories. But would like a good (discrete) messenger-style bag. I've seen the PeakDesign, nice bag but too fancy (I think) for my circumstances. Everyone carries a messenger bag, no-one gives then a second look, I like that!

I wish these companies would get a clue and offer a ratty version, you know, like those jeans the kids pay a premium for, Lol.

I really love the Tenba Copper 13 slim and i bought every think tank bag they have made. Sold all of it. For the whole system i use the Guru Gear 18 backpack. Im thinking of buying the DSLR Tenba as well. It may fit my zoom better when I have that in the bag which is another big discussion. I planned the zoom being the PR lens but given its so good is it now my landscape lens too. Even with the size and weight it really has a advantage sometimes. But we can start another thread on that which maybe a great discussion of how we are breaking up our kits for certain types of shooting. For real commercial shoots I take the Guru and load it with everything but Pr type stuff the Tenba and travel the Tenba. I walked for hours in NY with the Tenba 13 slim and i really never felt on me as being big and heavy.

i just sold a half dozen bags/strags on the board, but none of them were 'ratty' - perhaps i could have used a bag of nails like they do to 'age' wood floors and then marked up my prices!

i may have a (2 month barely) used Tenba Cooper 13 slim for sale by the wkend if i like the PD better!
but the PD may just be a touch big, we'll see.....

btw, i just returned both the Thinktank 25i and Tenba Cooper 8 - my wife and daughter laughed hysterically at me for walking around the house with a purse (tenba) or lunch bag (thinktank) - i was trying to find something smaller that would just hold a few things for the day but they really did look ridiculous on me.

that is one of the nice things about the TC13s - it's already very lean.

Guy,
Your FE 28/2 vs 24-70GM at 28mm matches pretty much what I see a infinity distances. The FE 28/2 is a great alternative to the GM zoom at 28mm as long as you stop down to f/8. (BTW: Gets a little better at f/11 in the corners but than the center loses micro-contrast)

Your Loxia 50/2 test differs from mine though. Did you check your L50/2 for decentering?

i actually was thinking of you when i ordered it - i think it's perfect for the GM glass + extras, yet b/c of the 4 position clasp, will tighten up like the Tenba Slim.
