Thanks for all your suggestions. Sounds like the two of you guys had a great trip. I didn't know that Canon made a 200-400. Have you ever tried one of the new Sigmas or Tamrons? Just wondering.

No prob...yes I have the 150-600 Contemporary....for the price it is a wonderful lens...there are some shortcomings but on bias if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, just a finger or two it is a fine lens.

Is that all you got?
You are the 'Puminator'

Thanks Karl...more...you say more...maybe a couple stockpiled for a rainy day (I'm sure that's no surprise ) but I think puma saturation meter is off the scale right now....we were incredibly lucky to see what we did...would have liked to see some little cubs so maybe I will need to revisit at some point.

super set! you seem to be close enough to pet the kitty. They were used to humans watching the eat?
great set
Thanks Hai! We were about 30-60' at times....being there were only 3 of us there at the time (Don, the guide and me) the puma did not feel threatened. Because of years of hunting they tend to be wary and move away rather than toward bipedal mammals....giving it the space it needed allowed it to feed in peace and us the opportunity to have an amazing experience and get the shots we wanted. The cats of this area are more used to people and are tolerant but it was obvious on occasions when more people were viewing/following a puma and "pushing" it that they wanted nothing to do with us and would walk or run away.
