Beautiful set of a rare cat. So is a Puma and a Mountain Lion the same thing?
Thanks so much...and yes Puma, Mountain Lion, cougar, panther, and catamount are all names used for the same animal. There are officially 6 subspecies that are found within North, Central and South America.

Really fun to see all of these together, Eric! What a fantastic experience. Next time, I'll have to give you some cheek swabs so you can get DNA samples!

Plenty of feline sleekness on display here. This is a really nice collection Eric. Being there to see it all in person must have been really special. As Ron said, it is hard to pull out just one or two faves. But I will say I still like #15 a lot (probably part of a sequence, and it may not be the exact frame you posted already). After going through that massive and excellent post, I've think I've OD'd on cats and will have to go seek out some dog pics to provide a balance.
What is the next big project? Snow leopards in the Himalayas? ...Show more →

Looks like a great trip. Oh ya, I was there. It was a great trip.
Those are some fine memories. And seeing all these cats on foot certainly makes it extra special. It's always fun to see your take on the same images we "experienced" together.
Don
I seem to recall you were never more than 10 feet away except when we were climbing mountains then I saw your back from at least 30-50 meters....can't wait to see your shots...will be most interesting to hear your "voice"

Definitely took advantage of a great opportunity. Thanks for sharing!!
You're proximity has me thinking if I would have the guts to hold what I have regarding the close proximity and the obvious acknowledgment from the cat that you are within striking distance.
